RACE #8 - SARATOGA RACE COURSE - 4:45 PM EASTERN POST
New York Stallion Stakes - Statue of Liberty Division
8.0 FURLONGS INNER TURF THREE YEAR OLD FILLIES STAKES $100,000.00 PURSE

#4 LADY JOAN
#6 LOVER'S KEY
#1 PAZ THE BOURBON
#8 CARRY YOUR HEELS

The race pays tribute to the colossal neoclassical sculpture on Liberty Island in New York Harbor, designed by Frederic Bartholdi and dedicated on October 28, 1886. Here in the 14th running of this stakes test, #4 LADY JOAN has hit the board in four of her last five starts, including "POWER RUN WINS" found in both her last start, as well as in her 4th race back. #6 LOVER'S KEY shares the overall speed honors in this field with #1 PAZ THE BOURBON, and has hit the board in five straight winning four times in this recent streak of racing consistency, including "POWER RUN WINS" in both her last start, as well as in his 3rd race back. Jockey Junior Alvarado was in her irons for that last win, 45 days ago at Belmont Park which produced a +260% return on investment in the process, and is back this afternoon here at "The Spa" for his 2nd ride, gunning for back-to-back "Circle Trips."

Preview: Padres at Reds

Gracenote

Aug 10, 2017

When the lineup clicks for the Cincinnati Reds, it's hard to believe they're in last place in the National League Central. The Reds will try to show off the depth of their offense again and earn a series win when they host the San Diego Padres in the finale of a four-game series on Thursday.

Cincinnati bashed four home runs in an 11-3 win in the series opener on Monday but could not get the bats to come alive in a 7-3 setback on Tuesday - the fifth time in six games that it had been held to four or fewer runs. But things were back on track Wednesday, when the Reds collected 11 hits and celebrated rookie catcher Stuart Turner's first career home run in an 8-3 win. The Padres are losers of five of their last seven games and allowed at least five runs in each of those defeats. One of the few bright spots on the San Diego staff of late is right-hander Dinelson Lamet, who will take the mound on Thursday opposite Cincinnati righty Luis Castillo.

TV: 12:35 p.m. ET, FSN San Diego

PITCHING MATCHUP: Padres RH Dinelson Lamet (6-4, 5.12 ERA) vs. Reds RH Luis Castillo (2-5, 3.64)

Lamet is on a roll with three straight wins, allowing two or fewer earned runs in each of those three outings. The rookie from the Dominican Republic yielded only one hit in 5 2/3 scoreless innings at Pittsburgh on Saturday. Lamet is seeing Cincinnati for the first time in his career and is 3-3 with a 6.03 ERA in seven starts on the road.

Castillo is having more trouble finding the win column and is 1-4 in his last five turns despite allowing three or fewer earned runs four times in that span. The 24-year-old Dominican's lone win in that span came at Miami on July 30, when he scattered one run and three hits over eight innings. Castillo is seeing San Diego for the first time and is 0-3 with a 4.50 ERA in four home starts.

WALK-OFFS

1. Reds 1B Joey Votto extended his hitting streak to 14 games on Wednesday.

2. San Diego LF Jose Pirela is 7-for-12 with five runs scored in the series.

3. Cincinnati claimed RHP Luke Farrell off waivers on Wednesday and designated OF Scott Van Slyke for assignment.

PREDICTION: Reds 7, Padres 2

GAME: Pittsburgh Pirates (56-58) at Detroit Tigers (52-61)
DATE/TIME: Thursday, August 10 - 1:10 PM EST
WHERE: Comerica Park, Detroit, Michigan
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

Preview: Pirates at Tigers

Gracenote

Aug 10, 2017

A change in scenery was all the Detroit Tigers needed to get the bats going and get back into the win column. The Tigers will try to put together a similar performance in front of the home fans and earn a sweep of the home portion of a four-game, home-and-home interleague set when they host the Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday.

Detroit managed three runs in two losses at Pittsburgh on Monday and Tuesday but turned the tables when the series shifted on Wednesday, pounding out 14 hits while ace Justin Verlander stymied the Pirates in a 10-0 win. Nick Castellanos was 2-for-25 over seven games, including 0-for-6 with a pair of strikeouts in Pittsburgh, before breaking out and leading the offensive charge on Wednesday with three hits and five RBIs. The Pirates missed a chance to reach .500 with the loss and squandered an opportunity to gain a game in the National League Central on the first-place Chicago Cubs. Pittsburgh, which sits 3 1/2 games behind Chicago in the Central, sends ace Gerrit Cole to the mound on Thursday opposite Tigers righty Drew VerHagen.

TV: 1:10 p.m. ET, ATT SportsNet-Pittsburgh, FSN Detroit

PITCHING MATCHUP: Pirates RH Gerrit Cole (9-8, 4.00 ERA) vs. Tigers RH Drew VerHagen (0-1, 5.00)

Cole turned in his sixth straight quality start on Saturday against San Diego but suffered his first loss in that span while allowing three runs on eight hits and two walks in six innings. The former No. 1 overall pick surrendered a total of eight runs in 32 innings over his previous five turns. Cole is 8-5 with a 3.34 ERA in 16 career interleague starts, including 1-1 with a 2.41 mark in three chances against Detroit.

VerHagen is getting a second chance to start after allowing two runs and four hits in five innings without factoring in the decision at Baltimore on Saturday. The Vanderbilt product made two appearances out of the bullpen after being recalled in July and surrendered a total of three runs in four innings in that role. VerHagen went 7-7 with a 4.90 ERA in 19 starts for Triple-A Toledo before being recalled.

WALK-OFFS

1. Tigers RHP Michael Fulmer (elbow inflammation) played catch on Wednesday and could return to the rotation next week.

2. Pittsburgh 1B Josh Bell doubled twice on Wednesday, breaking a string of eight consecutive games without an extra-base hit.

3. Detroit 2B Ian Kinsler went 3-for-4 with four runs scored and four RBIs on Wednesday, matching his RBI total from the previous 17 games.

GAME: New York Mets (50-61) at Philadelphia Phillies (42-69)

Preview: Mets at Phillies

Gracenote

Aug 10, 2017

Coming off a woeful homestand, the New York Mets will try to maintain their recent dominance of the Philadelphia Phillies when the teams open a four-game series in the City of Brotherly Love on Thursday. The Mets have won six of their last seven contests and nine of their last 12 in Philadelphia - including a three-game sweep at Citizens Bank Park in April - and are closing in on their sixth straight season series victory.

New York enters the matchup with its National League East rivals after going 1-4 and averaging two runs on a five-game homestand, capped by Wednesday's 5-1 loss to Texas. The Mets followed up the offensively challenged stretch by shipping right fielder Jay Bruce - who leads the club with 29 homers - to Cleveland. The Phillies topped Atlanta 3-2 on Wednesday and will be aiming for their fourth straight win overall, as well as their sixth in a row at home. They will take aim at Mets ace Jacob deGrom, who is 5-0 with a 2.34 ERA in nine career starts against the Phillies and gets the nod opposite Philadelphia's Vince Velasquez.

TV: 7:05 p.m. ET, SNY (New York), CSN Philadelphia

PITCHING MATCHUP: Mets RH Jacob deGrom (12-5, 3.36 ERA) vs. Phillies RH Vince Velasquez (2-6, 4.82)

Since winning eight consecutive starts, deGrom has dropped two decisions in a row and he had his shortest outing in nearly two months Friday against the Los Angeles Dodgers. He gave up three runs and five hits while striking out eight in five innings of the 6-0 setback. The 29-year-old dominated the Phillies with 12 strikeouts and one run allowed in seven innings June 30 at home but has a more pedestrian 4.13 ERA in four career starts at Citizens Bank Park.

Velasquez is 0-1 despite a 3.00 ERA in four starts since coming off the disabled list last month. The California native spun seven scoreless innings against Atlanta in his last home start July 30, but he's 1-4 with a 5.54 ERA in seven appearances in Philadelphia. Velasquez was reached for eight runs over 11 innings over back-to-back starts against the Mets in April, which left him 1-2 with a 3.76 ERA in five career encounters.

WALK-OFFS

1. Phillies CF Odubel Herrera had two triples in Wednesday's win to extend his hitting streak to 12 games.

2. Mets LF Yoenis Cespedes has eight homers in 15 career games in Citizens Bank Park.

3. With a loss the Mets (50-61) would be at least 12 games below .500 for the first time since finishing the 2013 season at 74-88.

Gracenote

Aug 10, 2017

Questions surrounding what had been ailing Ryan Zimmerman of late were answered in emphatic fashion in his last game, as the 32-year-old ended a 2-for-27 slump by belting a pair of homers to highlight a four-hit, five-RBI performance in a 10-1 rout. Zimmerman, who is now the franchise's all-time RBI leader, aims to continue that momentum on Thursday as the Nationals conclude their four-game series against the visiting Miami Marlins.

Bryce Harper recorded his second straight two-RBI effort on Wednesday and his fourth two-hit performance in his last six outings to keep first-place Washington sailing along. The 2015 National League MVP has collected three homers, 13 RBIs and eight runs scored versus the Marlins this season, but is just 1-for-8 in his career against Thursday starter Dan Straily. While Washington holds a staggering 14-game lead over second-place Miami in the standings, it is just 6-6 in the season series. Miami's Derek Dietrich saw his seven-game hitting streak come to a halt on Wednesday, but is 5-for-15 with one homer and four RBIs against Thursday starter Tanner Roark.

TV: 7:05 p.m. ET, FSN Florida (Miami), MASN (Washington)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Marlins RH Dan Straily (7-8, 3.77 ERA) vs. Nationals RH Tanner Roark (9-7, 4.82)

Straily lost his fourth straight start on Saturday despite allowing just two runs for the second consecutive time in a 7-2 setback at Atlanta. The 28-year-old rebounded from a disastrous season-opening loss to the Nationals to pitch much better against them the second time around, permitting one run on three hits in six innings of a no-decision on June 21. Matt Wieters is a robust 5-for-6 with two homers and four RBIs versus Straily, however the right-hander has handcuffed Daniel Murphy (1-for-11) - with the second baseman sitting out of the starting lineup for two straight days due to an ailing hip.

Roark improved to 3-1 with a 2.96 ERA and 28 strikeouts in his last four starts on Friday after picking up the win following a two-run, five-hit performance in a 4-2 victory over the Chicago Cubs. The 30-year-old started his season on a high after yielding two runs on three hits in six frames of a 6-4 win over the Marlins on April 5 before the right-hander was shelled for six runs on as many hits over 2 2/3 innings at Miami on June 19. Like Dietrich, Dee Gordon (.389) and J.T. Realmuto (.348) have also enjoyed success versus Roark.

WALK-OFFS

1. Washington 3B Anthony Rendon, who is 1-for-21 in his last seven contests, is 0-for-10 with three strikeouts in the series.

2. Gordon is just 3-for-21 with six strikeouts in his last five games.

3. Nationals SS Adrian Sanchez is 5-for-7 with two doubles and two runs scored in the series.

GAME: New York Yankees (60-52) at Toronto Blue Jays (53-60)

Preview: Yankees at Blue Jays

Gracenote

Aug 10, 2017

Sonny Gray's debut with the New York Yankees didn't take long to go off the rails, thanks in large part to three first-inning errors by his new teammates. The 27-year-old looks to get back on track Thursday as the visiting Yankees play the rubber match of their three-game series against the Toronto Blue Jays at Rogers Centre.

Gray would welcome a better defensive effort than the one he received last time, or a repeat of Wednesday's offensive uprising as Yankees saw rookie Garrett Cooper erupt for four of his team's 17 hits in the 11-5 victory. Todd Frazier homered among his three hits and scored four times in that contest and has gone deep twice among his five career hits versus Thursday starter Marco Estrada. New York remained four games behind American League East-leading Boston while clinging to the top wild-card spot and Toronto has dropped three of five to make itself comfortable in the division's cellar. Jose Bautista, who is 6-for-15 with one homer and four RBIs in his career versus Gray, went deep on Wednesday to extend his hitting streak to five games and run-scoring stretch to four.

TV: 7:07 p.m. ET, YES (New York), Sportsnet (Toronto)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Yankees RH Sonny Gray (6-6, 3.41 ERA) vs. Blue Jays RH Marco Estrada (4-7, 5.12)

Gray was able to overcome the first-inning meltdown by his teammates and limited the damage to four runs (two earned) on four hits in six frames of a 5-1 setback at Cleveland. The Vanderbilt product allowed four runs (all unearned) in his last start with Oakland on July 25 - against Toronto, no less - although he was to blame for a pair of errant tosses that led to a four-run second inning. Despite his struggles, Gray owns a 4-3 mark with a 1.59 ERA in his last seven starts.

Estrada recorded his third straight no-decision and saw his winless stretch extend to 12 outings on Saturday despite yielding three runs over seven innings at Houston. The 34-year-old, who hasn't tasted victory since May 27, pitched well in one outing versus New York before getting blasted in two others. After permitting one run in seven innings of a 7-1 triumph over the Yankees on May 1, Estrada was blitzed for seven runs in 3 2/3 frames of a 12-2 shellacking on June 1 and six runs across 4 2/3 innings of a no-decision on July 5.

WALK-OFFS

1. New York SS Didi Gregorius is 11-for-22 during his five-game hitting streak.

2. Toronto 3B Josh Donaldson is 3-for-6 with two homers, five RBIs and two runs scored in the series.

3. Yankees RF Aaron Judge is 0-for-7 with three strikeouts in the series.

GAME: Cleveland Indians (60-51) at Tampa Bay Rays (58-57)

Preview: Indians at Rays

Gracenote

Aug 10, 2017

The Cleveland Indians were unable to create any momentum to take into a critical 11-game, 11-day road trip that begins Thursday night against the slumping Tampa Bay Rays. The American League Central-leading Indians have dropped three of their last four games after suffering a 3-2 loss to Colorado in 12 innings on Wednesday afternoon and will meet four teams in the playoff hunt on their trek.

Cleveland is 3-for-25 with runners in scoring position the past four contests and won’t have All-Star Michael Brantley (ankle) after he was placed on the 10-day disabled list, but the Indians acquired slugging outfielder Jay Bruce (29 homers) from the New York Mets late Wednesday. Danny Salazar looks to improve on a 2-0 record and 0.66 ERA at Tropicana Field when he takes the mound for Cleveland on Thursday against Blake Snell, who hopes to end a 15-start winless streak - 14 of them in 2017. While the Indians lead Kansas City by four games in the AL Central, the Rays have dropped four of their last five to fall one game out in the race for the AL’s second wild card. Brad Miller is 4-for-9 with two walks and a homer in the last three games for Tampa Bay, which managed just four runs and is 0-for-24 with runners in scoring position over the last five contests.

TV: 7:10 p.m. ET, MLB Network, STO (Cleveland), FSN Sun (Tampa Bay)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Indians RH Danny Salazar (4-5, 4.32 ERA) vs. Rays LH Blake Snell (0-6, 4.98)

Salazar has produced three strong starts since coming off the disabled list, earning one victory while allowing three runs and eight hits over 20 innings with 28 strikeouts. The 27-year-old fanned a career-high 12 in seven innings last time out against the New York Yankees but settled for a no-decision in a 2-1 loss. Corey Dickerson owns two homers in five at-bats versus Salazar, who yielded five runs (four homers) in five innings of a loss to Tampa Bay on May 16.

Snell was recalled take the spot of injured Alex Cobb (turf toe) in the rotation five days after being sent down to Triple-A Durham. The 24-year-old Seattle native permitted three runs in each of four starts during his last stint in the majors, completing more than four innings in just two of them while surrendering a home run in every game. Snell faced Cleveland once in his career, giving up three runs (two earned) over 6 2/3 innings during a loss last June.

WALK-OFFS

1. Tampa Bay 1B-DH Lucas Duda was a late scratch from the lineup Wednesday due to a thumb contusion and he is day-to-day.

2. Bruce is 0-for-14 over his last four games with the Mets, but boasts 75 RBIs while batting .256 this season with an .841 OPS.

3. The Indians have won seven of their last eight games at Tropicana Field, but gave up 20 runs while losing two of three to the Rays at home in mid-May.

PREDICTION: Indians 5, Rays 2

Preview: Royals at Cardinals

Gracenote

Aug 10, 2017

The St. Louis Cardinals elected not to become sellers at the non-waiver trade deadline, and now they’ve surged into contention in the National League Central. The Cardinals aim for a sixth straight victory and a four-game sweep of the visiting Kansas City Royals when the I-70 Series wraps up on Thursday.

The Cardinals have clawed within 1 1/2 games of the division-leading Chicago Cubs after many thought they would be sellers at the deadline. The player they were thought most likely to deal was right-hander Lance Lynn, who takes the mound Thursday opposite Kansas City’s Jason Hammel. The Royals have dropped three straight and five of their last six to fall four games behind first-place Cleveland in the American League Central and one back of Seattle for the second wild-card spot. Yadier Molina’s grand slam lifted St. Louis to an 8-5 win Wednesday after the Cardinals outscored the Royals 21-6 in two wins in Kansas City to start the series.

TV: 7:15 p.m. ET, MLB Network, FSN Kansas City, FSN Midwest (St. Louis)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Royals RH Jason Hammel (5-9, 4.73 ERA) vs. Cardinals RH Lance Lynn (10-6, 3.12)

Hammel has recorded quality starts in each of his last two outings and four of his last six. The 34-year-old held Seattle to three runs and six hits over 6 1/3 innings Friday but suffered a hard-luck loss in a 5-2 defeat. Hammel is 4-6 with a 5.68 ERA in 12 career starts against the Cardinals.

Lynn is 4-0 with a 1.21 ERA over his last six starts and has allowed more than one run only once during that stretch. The 30-year-old continued his dominant stretch by holding Cincinnati to one run and three hits over six innings on Saturday. Lynn is 0-1 with a 6.38 ERA in three career starts against the Royals.

WALK-OFFS

1. Molina is 10-for-24 with five extra-base hits against Hammel.

2. Royals 2B Whit Merrifield went 4-for-5 on Wednesday and is 11-for-26 during his six-game hitting streak.

3. Kansas City LF Alex Gordon has been out of the lineup the last two games and is mired in a 1-for-18 slump, but he is 6-for-10 lifetime versus Lynn.

Preview: Twins at Brewers

Gracenote

Aug 10, 2017

The Milwaukee Brewers will try to salvage the finale of a four-game, home-and-home interleague series when they host the Minnesota Twins on Thursday. After falling twice in Minnesota by a combined score of 16-8, the Brewers managed five hits - all singles - in a 4-0 setback at home on Wednesday.

Milwaukee's four-game losing streak has put the club just two games over .500 (59-57) for the first time since it was 41-39 near the end of June, and it remains 1 1/2 games behind the first-place Chicago Cubs in the National League Central. Meanwhile, the Twins have won four in a row to get back to .500 and within 1 1/2 games of the second wild-card spot in the American League. Brian Dozier has recorded six hits - two homers - and five RBIs in his last two games and five home runs over a span of six contests. Milwaukee's Zach Davies will try to pick up his 14th win when he takes the mound in the finale against Minnesota's Kyle Gibson.

TV: 8:10 p.m. ET, FSN North (Minnesota), FSN Wisconsin (Milwaukee)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Twins RH Kyle Gibson (6-9, 6.03 ERA) vs. Brewers RH Zach Davies (13-5, 4.18)

Gibson returned from a brief stint in the minors to allow three runs over 5 1/3 innings in a loss to Texas on Saturday. He has completed at least six frames in six of his last 10 starts after failing to do so in each of his first nine outings this year. The former first-round draft pick out of the University of Missouri is 1-1 with a 5.03 ERA in three career meetings with Milwaukee.

Davies has yielded three earned runs and 19 hits in 28 2/3 innings over a dominant four-game stretch, which includes seven scoreless frames in a win at Tampa Bay on Saturday. Much of his recent success has come on the road, as the 24-year-old has posted a 7.33 ERA in his last four turns at Miller Park. Davies, who never has faced the Twins, is 2-0 with a 1.80 ERA in three career interleague starts.

WALK-OFFS

1. Milwaukee 3B Travis Shaw missed Wednesday's game due to a family matter and is considered day-to-day.

2. Brewers LF Ryan Braun is 10-for-17 during his team's losing streak.

3. Dozier is batting .386 with four home runs in 13 career games at Miller Park.

Preview: Astros at White Sox

Gracenote

Aug 10, 2017

The owners of the American League's worst record vie for a sweep against the team with the best mark in the Junior Circuit on Thursday, as the Chicago White Sox wrap up their three-game series against the visiting Houston Astros. The White Sox answered a six-game skid during which they mustered 16 runs by erupting for 15 in back-to-back victories over the Astros.

Tim Anderson homered for the second time in four contests and recorded his fourth multi-hit performance during his seven-game hitting streak in Chicago's 7-1 romp on Wednesday. While the White Sox are staring at a significant uphill climb, the suddenly sputtering Astros have misfired to the tune of eight losses in their last 11 contests. His team's recent struggles aside, Alex Bregman is riding high with an 11-game hitting streak - including 10 straight contests with an extra-base hit to tie the franchise record set by Richard Hidalgo in 2000. Sixteen of the 23-year-old's 28 hits since the All-Star break have gone for extra bases.

TV: 8:10 p.m. ET, AT&T SportsNet-Southwest (Houston), CSN Chicago

PITCHING MATCHUP: Astros RH Brad Peacock (10-1, 3.20 ERA) vs. White Sox LH Carlos Rodon (1-4, 4.66)

Peacock has benefited from receiving nearly 10 runs per nine innings, and that strong backing came into play Friday against Toronto. The 29-year-old became only the third Astros starter to win a game despite surrendering at least seven earned runs in a 16-7 victory over the Blue Jays. Peacock permitted three homers after entering the contest having allowed just two all season.

Rodon settled for his second straight no-decision on Friday despite striking out a career high-tying 11 for the second time in three outings. The 24-year-old allowed just two runs and six hits in 7 2/3 innings against Boston as his winless stretch was extended to five contests. Rodon has been roughed up by Carlos Beltran (5-for-9, three doubles) and Jose Altuve (3-for-9), while George Springer is just 1-for-9 with three strikeouts versus the left-hander.

WALK-OFFS

1. Houston has lost four in a row on the road but still sports the majors' best record away from home (38-17).

2. Chicago 3B Nicky Delmonico is 11-for-23 during his six-game hitting streak.

3. Astros OF Josh Reddick is 0-for-8 in the series after hitting safely in 11 of his previous 12 contests.

Preview: Dodgers at Diamondbacks

Gracenote

Aug 10, 2017

The major league-best Los Angeles Dodgers look to avoid losing their first series in more than two months when they visit the Arizona Diamondbacks on Thursday for the rubber match of their three-game set. Los Angeles, which became the first team to record 80 wins this season with Wednesday's 3-2 triumph, has not dropped a series since losing two of three to Washington from June 5-7 and is 45-8 in its last 53 contests.

Rookie sensation Cody Bellinger went 2-for-4 with his third home run in four games - and team-leading 33rd of the season - for the Dodgers, who own a 15 1/2-game lead over Colorado in the National League West. Los Angeles has won five of its last six contests to improve to 6-2 on its nine-game road trip and become the first team since 1913 to reach the 80-win mark in its first 113 contests. Arizona has lost three of its last four contests but owns a 6 1/2-game lead for the second wild card in the NL and is one-half game behind the Rockies for the first spot. Paul Goldschmidt is 10-for-24 with four homers and 11 RBIs during his six-game hitting streak after belting a solo shot Wednesday.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Dodgers RH Yu Darvish (7-9, 3.81 ERA) vs. Diamondbacks LH Anthony Banda (1-1, 3.86)

Darvish had a smashing debut with Los Angeles on Friday, scattering three hits and striking out 10 over seven scoreless innings in a victory over the Mets in New York. It was an enormous turnaround for the 30-year-old from Japan, who was battered for 10 runs over 3 2/3 frames of a loss to Miami on July 26 in his final outing with Texas before being traded five days later. Darvish has made two career starts against Arizona, going 1-0 while allowing four runs and recording 28 strikeouts over 14 2/3 innings.

Banda is coming off a triumph at San Francisco on Friday in which he gave up one run and three hits over six innings in his second major-league start. The Texan, who turns 24 on Thursday, struggled with his control, however, issuing four walks and hitting a batter. Banda, who will be facing Los Angeles for the first time, also has posted a 7-6 record and 5.13 ERA in 19 starts for Triple-A Reno this season.

WALK-OFFS

1. Dodgers LHP Clayton Kershaw (back) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Friday while OF Andre Ethier (back) is slated to begin a rehab assignment with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga the following day.

2. Diamondbacks OF J.D. Martinez has registered 16 RBIs in 17 games since being acquired from Detroit on July 18.

3. Los Angeles lost RHP Luke Farrell, who was claimed off waivers by Cincinnati on Wednesday after being acquired from Kansas City on July 28 and assigned to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

PREDICTION: Dodgers 8, Diamondbacks 3
