I realize this is an obscure play, but I need to play it. Atleast two of my books offer first half team totals, so I hope you can play it as well.
I love Pittsburgh to win tonight, but don't like that line. Tennessee's defense was stout last year, but people seem to be mum on the gaping hole the departure of Haynesworth left. Is there a worse team to play than Tennessee when you have a major question mark in the interior of your line? Pittsburgh comes out juiced tonight and I think this line is a complete gift. The Steeler's defense may put up a td by themselves, so I will take my chances here that Pitt gets off to a quick start.

I am playing 2 big dogs today going with the theory that I think at least 1 of them will win and we will add a 1% profit off the pups to the 401 K plan. I have clients tell me that playing the big dogs like this will end my 6 day winning streak and that it will only bring your win % down, which doesn't make me look too good. I am not , have never been, or ever will be about win %. I am about 1 thing and one thing only and that is grinding out profits. Win % is a superficial stat and if that is what drives a capper then he/she is leaving a lot of $$$ on the table.
as for this play , Seattle has split the season series with the Angels so far this year, going 5-4 at home and 4-5 here in LA. Ryan rowland smith is emerging as a nice #2 type starter capable of beating anyone on any day. He now has 5 quality starts in his last 6 games. Lackey gets the big price here on REP but he has been inconsistent all year. Just when it looked like he was getting rolling, He threw back to back clunkers in there 2 weeks ago. Lackey is 11-9 vs the M's and the opponents BA vs Lackey suggest that there is a good chance for one of those "clunkers" tonight. Griffey 4-10, Gutierrez 2-5, Johjima 9-25, lopez 12-37, Ichiro 26-81, sweeney 4-10, all have had good success vs lackey in the past and at +180 I am willing to take the chance that the M's get hot tonight too.

Oh the irony. You are absolutely correct. This must have changed recently because I certainly recall threads of this nature appearing frequently last year.
You have also have imparted an important lesson in the most efficient use of the chatter thread. For there is no greater post than a burn, and no greater burn than that given with an emoticon slapping its own head.
