In 2002 the Jets had the 22nd ranked offense and 24th ranked defense. I don't see anything to make me think the Jets will be any better but see a lot to make me think they will be worse.The Jets started off 1-3 in 2002 with Testeverde. Testeverde will soon be 40 and his best years are gone. Curtis Martin is the only player close to pro bowl caliber on offense and his best years are also behind him. The DL is the the strongest unit on the Jets and they are forced to start a rookie Robertson who got tons up pub prior to the draft because of his combine workout. We'll see just how productive he is on the field. The LB's are banged up and aging. The best players on the Jets are now on Washington in Coles, Thomas, Morton and Hall.
Last year Spurrier treated the preseason as though it were the regular season and gave false hopes to Redskin fans. This year it seems that Spurrier is saving something for the real games. The OL is strong with two of the best T's in the league in Jansen in Samuels and two strong G's. Ramsey in now in his 2nd year and should be better. Washington was ranked 5th overall in defense in 2002. There are big questions on the DL but the LB's and DB's are strong with guys such as Arrington, Trotter, Armstead, Bailey and Smoot.
If Pennington weren't hurt I'd look at this game differently. Without Pennington I don't see how the Jets win this one. GLTA

I look for Herman Edwards to have his team stoked for this one. I also believe Paul Hackett Jet Off. Coordinator, now in his 3rd year in New York, will have Jet offense set to control ball with Vinny T. at QB. The west coast offense will just need for Vinny to read and throw, not a problem for him in the past. I question the Skins ground game, Patrick Ramsey's experience (only 5 career starts) and their pass rush. Special teams can be big in this game, but as usual they are difficult to handicap. I'm not a proven winner guys but I have a feeling there's going to be a shoot-out tonight in Washington. Watch out for Vinny-Conway/Martin and Ramsey-Gardner/Coles. Not a strong play but the only one I like for tonight's opener.

GL this weekend RR regulars. Beware of the Dogs I think they are going to be biting this weekend. Becareful playing any favorite between 6-10, they were 6-0 last week, so teasing down to even was a killer for books. This weekend look for ML dogs in that range. GL
