I'll be on FSU moneyline small. I could see either team winning so I might as well grab some good odds.

Careful

This game and "Big Money" dont belong in the same sentence. Byu playing solid both sides of the ball. They might win by 3 touchdowns. Flo state gets torched in the air by miami and almost loses to 1aa. This is a great spot for the Noles. There is a very big reason why Vegas Starts this at 6.5 and 7. Simply put the noles are always dangerous. EVEN after the miserable last 5 seasons. The line should be 10. Some notes :

1. Oklahoma Had a new line which wasnt too difficult to confuse
2. That gm Was not AT OKLAHOMA
3. Byu had a month to prepare for that gm
4. Mickey Andrews will make defensive adjustments and have some surprises for Hall.
5. Jimbo fisher-- the offense is finally getting why they named him next head coach.
6. Jack st is solid. Quarterback is ryan perriloux----who would be starting for lsu right now----Game was played in downpour
7. Ponder will be getting first downs with his legs unlike bradford and his mustached back up.
8. Byu offense has played great. But still only 4 offensive returners. One game is one game. that will get exposed eventually

Some of these are irrelevant excuses but there are many more. My rookie rx two cents would be take the pts small and small moneyline FSU.
BYU is the "better team" and may win this impressively. FSU is like a pet rattle snake (u eventually gotta clean the cage). The BOTTOM LINE is---Why would risk a ton of money on either side of this game? Never bet big on any Game FSU is involved in. Plenty of other good gms this week . Might be a great pick but more often then not you will be scratching your head with a lighter wallet.

FSU here, but it would be nice if they had a better run game to bring into screw-your-sister-ville...

I would agree about it being a great spot for FSU if they were any good. But they aren't. The biggest problem with many bettors is trying to get too cute when thinking about a game. BYU plays defense and has a tremendous passing attack which cuts into the meat of FSUs weakness - pass defense.

People can make whatever excuses they want as to why BYU beat OU. With Bradford in the whole game...they probably dont win. But even when he was in BYU was giving them all they wanted. FSU, people need to realize, is just a poor team which a fraction of the talent they used to have.

Ia going to load up on FSU. Their defense sucked in game one, but their offense is going to hang a big number on the Mormons.
What makes you think their defense won't suck more on the road in game two? They had better bring something more besides offense to beat BYU. I think FSU has the better athletes. But very seldom have they played up to their potential.

Just giving everyone a heads up... you need to look at injuries and know that the game is technically supposed to be decided by 10 points. Do work.

BYU does not win easily here even though they are one of the hottest teams in the country (momentum-wise) IMO.

I lean FSU

fsu continues to disappoint, and cant see their defense slowing down byu considering how they looked at home vs miami.

I think BYU is better than UM, and FSU couldn't stop them from passing. BYU gets to spots as well as anyone, plays assignment football, look what WF does to them every year, same thing here, BYU, and its not close..

i dont think Miami is as good as BYU either and Miami's defense was suspect... at best... against FSU. Not to mention, Miami gave FSU the ball on at least the 40 on every kickoff. BYU has better defense, better offense, better special teams, and it's on the road. I was impressed w/ Ponder but very unimpressed w/ FSU's run game and their defense. I don't see it. Dare I say it becomes a must-win for FSU? 1-2 would be disasterous. That scares me. Regardless, I laid the 7 points.

Good luck to all and thanks for the varying opinions.

Better put

Made some notes on this gm as fsu being in a good spot in a post earlier. tomahawk nation made some fantastic points to consider on this game. Yes its biased but worth a look. Talks about and shows video on Byu vs oklahoma. Mentions how oklahoma beat themselves in the first half and how those things match up well for FSU. I am a FSU homer but do like the BYU tm. The execution and discipline similar to Boise st often overcomes better talent in college. The site is Tomahawknation.com. Worth a look if you are considering laying alot of money on either side. if you go there it should be titled something like Seminole try to avoid beating themselves. GL

BYU by a ton...still undervalued team

they held their own on both line of scrimmages well before Bradford went down

FSU has a ton of speed all over the field but are undisciplined and dumb as dirt team

especially in the secondary

FSU is a square dog IMO

When I saw the thread Topic, I began composing a Reply in my mind and then I read this one above, which sez it all and saves me typing.

Define "Big"

And while you're pondering that question, let's review the past 14 Home games for Cougars in Provo and how many points they've allowed

Going in reverse order beginning with their last home game of 2008 when they surrendered....

35! Yep...to UNLV of all teams. A rather curious outcome given it was the Rebels highest scoring tilt of 2008, a year when they would win but four times.

Continuing backwards in 2008

That's 10.5 ppg allowed in past 14 Home games. And if we give them a modest mulligan for that UNLV game, that's just 8.6 ppg in the remaining 13 (includes games vs UCLA, Arizona)

=========

Looks like this one could also lean hard to the Under 55 if Cougars can maintain this level of stiffness and hold FSU to 17 or less.

FSU grad and homer (as my avatar quote says).

I have been screaming to anyone who listens that we need an entire new coaching staff. I remember at halftime of a huge game maybe 5 years ago (I believe) Ernie Sims was kicked out of the game mid way through the second quarter for throwing a punch. As the teams went to the tunnel an onfield reporter asks Bobby "Bobby, what are you going to do in the second half now that your best defensive player was kicked out?" Bobby looked at her and said "what? who got kicked out"..That was it for me. How the F do you not know that!! Bobby is a legend and one of the greatest coaches of all time BUT as in every profession you have to know when to hang them up. Unfortunately, for what I believe are selfish reasons, he refuses to quit. This has created a coaching disaster which in turn creates a recruiting disaster. I am not sold on Jimbo as he has COACHED the team the past 2 years and all the other old cronies need to go as well. 2 years ago we said wait til Jimbo recruits get playing, wait til Trickets linemen get playing--well 2-3 years later and we are no better off than we were with Jeff Freakin Bowden..

OK enough of my rant but the above rant factors into my opionion for the game. The smartest posters on here are the ones that said "leave this one alone". The abomination game last week ended and I set the line in my head for BYU..BYU- 13.5. I was floored to see 6.5. After digesting the opening line it made sense. This is an exact scenario where FSU could play a big game and win..BUT this scenario was with teams of the past. People are remembering Noles teams of the past. We have undisciplined players,no swagger, and no leadership. I attriubute all of this to the coaching staff who has drageed our once proud program into the second tier of division 1 teams.

I am passing on the game. I will root hard for my alma mater but would not be surprised if they win nor would I be surprised if they lose by 25. Gun to my head --I take BYU 7 or less.

As always..Go Noles

Big write up in the local rag (which is also known as the gator sun sentinel) on the FSU game..I was shocked (even though it was only 1/8th pg article)..All it talked about was Amato and Andrews saying we don't stop the run we will be in for a long, long night.
