"The U.S. death toll from the novel coronavirus reached 50,000 on Friday, having doubled in 10 days, according to both Reuters and Johns Hopkins University.

...
The true number of cases is thought to be higher, with state public health officials cautioning that shortages of trained workers and materials have limited testing capacity. Deaths are also likely higher, as most states only count hospital and nursing home victims and not those who died at home.

...
U.S. coronavirus deaths, the highest in the world, now exceed the total number of Americans killed in the 1950-53 Korean War – 36,516.

So many of these threads are the same. But I thought we were not suppose to compare this to other forms of death. Because you know it falls short

We are below our national daily level of deaths. That's a good thing

Economic collapse?

How many poverty stricken & starving people in 3rd world countries kill themselves?

Some are quite willing to sacrifice the weak for their love of the economy or, more likely, their own jobs.

To use a similar reasoning, why not instead sacrifice those who are weak (the suicidal due to economic collapse) to save those at risk of C-19 death.

But they're telling you, you just wait, wait for all the articles that will be posted on the rx about "Netflix kills" lol

Meanwhile, back in the real world, many lives have been saved from C-19 death by the lockdowns & both flu & car deaths are way lower too.

Surely that has to be good for the economy, eh? Or would the economy be the same w/o a million dead USAers?
