Places that have a 500 person capacity will be reduce by 50%. Broadway goes quiet Thursday at 5pm. Have no idea how they are dealing with JFK, Penn Station or Grand Central Station.

NEW YORK (WABC) -- New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has banned gatherings of more than 500 people effective Friday to halt the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus and ordered Broadway shuttered as of 5 p.m. Thursday.

Meanwhile, the Archdiocese of New York will close all school effective Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 20.

Additionally, the Orange County Health Department confirmed its first case of coronavirus, while Yonkers announced that schools will be closed Friday after six people tested positive there.


New York City closed two co-located schools, the Laboratory School of Finance and Technology and South Bronx Preparatory: A College Board School, in the Bronx due to a student's self-confirmed positive case of COVID-19.

The one-mile containment zone is officially in effect in New Rochelle, which means big changes for people in the Westchester city. The National Guard is in place.
