No dead innocent bystnders please. Poor kid was the ultimate wrong place and wrong time victim. Do you think she was tossing bottles or lighting fires? I feel for her family.:neenee:
Terrible that girl lost her life....also terrible to see the gruesome pictures the Boston Herald ran of it. Did anyone else see it?

They had a front page color pic of her lifeless body, sprawled out on the concrete and then on page four a closer shot with some bystander checking her pulse and blood coming from her eye and nose. The lack of respect shown for her and her family makes me sick....

Let's hope this never happens again....

The public is not ALL Pedro..........a majority perhaps, but not NEAR ALL.

We have a team in the CARDS that is in a must win situation, and JOHN Q. PUBLIC loves these types of teams.

AGAIN, IT IS MY OPINION THAT SQUARES AND SHARPS ARE EVENLY DIVIDED ON BOTH SIDES.......with only a slight lean to one side or the other.

Tough tough game to handicap. :)

But Cards win in this spot 64% of the time......approximently.

I have read all 10 pages and have determined that Boston is on such a roll, the Bruins haven't even lost yet.

No play for me though I need St Louis for personal reasons, rode the Red Sox all the way (couldn't believe we won the ALCS) but got off them too early it looks like in this series. Thought STL would be more competitive than they have shown.

For tonights game the question is too complicated and with too many variables for me to even guess. Pedro was said to have lost about 4-5 MPH off his fastball coming down the stretch which is key in setting up his other pitches, will the extra rest help him? I have a feeling it will and that might make things tough for the Cards.

As far as Suppan it's a stretch to call him the ACE of the staff IMO, most think he's probably got the least effective stuff out of all of them! Comparing his ERA to Pedro's when he pitches in the NL (no DH) is a little misleading as well. Still though I agree with the sentiment he is probably pitching as well right now as he ever has, got to give him props there. With a great hitting team behind him that many think are just waiting to explode I can see why it looks tempting. Will his hot streak on the mound continue is the question?

Too close for me to call but I can't see this being a "no-brainer" for either side. Good luck.

Who the hell was Suppan before this season? The guy has always been a scrub. He has one good season and all of a sudden he is the ace. LMFAO

Pedro makes 10 times what Suppan makes. That should tell you all you need to know.

Dicky,

Speaking of looking in the mirror, take a peak at a small bet I made recently into Pinnacle when Yankees were up 3 games to 1 against the Red Sox, since you brought up records...

Wager details for ticket number 28909199-1:

THE SHRINK

Great call Ken if it wasn't a hedge. I know someone who placed a similar bet but he had about 50 large in seeing the Yanks win it all, he took a 'small' position (about 10% of his wager) on the Sox when they were down just to cover his ass. Was that what you did, LOL? :heh:

Actually since I've known him Ken's not much to hedge in these situations so I would be surprised but thought I would ask just in case.

Don't have the time or interest in reading this "War and Peace Thread"

That being said, can someone enlighten me if the LARGE selection is somewhere in here ?

This thread is way too long for me to read, and I haven't.

My question is why it gained so much interest.

Is it backers , or faders that cared ? :manwh:

Hi,

I'm don't bet a lot of sports, mostly play online poker, but can someone explain the advantages of this bet is? Basically he is betting $5000 to win $24,000 under the condition that the Red Sox had to win the 4 remaining games, right? Why not take the $5000 and bet it all on the 4th game, and then take all of that and bet it on the 5th game, and then bet all of the returns on that on the 6th and then all of that on the 7th? Woudn't your win $$ be much higher, especially since if memory serves me right they were dogs getting +1-- for every game? What would be the advantage of making this kind of bet over just putting everything double or nothing into each individual game?
