<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR> In terms of the regulatory framework, please visit the website of the ACT Gambling and Racing Commission (www.gamblingandracing.act.gov.au). If you wish to see more about the legislative framework, we operate under the provisions of the ACT Race and Sports Bookmaking Act 2001 - (http://www.legislation.act.gov.au). (Go to Acts section and look up the Race and Sports Bookmakers Act) The detailed subordinate legislation that establishes and governs our activities can be found under the Disallowable Instruments section. As these instruments are somewhat fluid, we have not attempted to post direct links to our site.

I accept your suggestion regarding the linking of regulations with our rules etc. Please be aware that not every single action and process is governed by a specific government regulation. For example, The ACT's gambling code of practice (available from the Commission website) establishes broad guidelines regarding promotions and inducements (section 30). We have to ensure that anything we do is in accordance with the code - the code does not attempt to spell out everything that we can or cannot do. That would not be regulation - that would be strangulation. <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

With regard to guidelines regarding promotions and inducements (section 30)...the following is the index from the ACT Race and Sports Bookmaking Act 2001, by which the guidelines regarding promotions and inducements could NOT be found.

Please provide specific website location/address containing the "promotion and inducement" (section 30) guildlines, or section as reference by index below....thank you.

BYE SPIVE!!!

It's because of the way you have acted in this thread that many sports books don't post!

You should be appreciative of the fact that Betworks chose to do so...

We want to encourage this activity, not discourage it!

You were asked nicely to knock it off and you chose to persist...

Now take the weekend off to think about whether you want to come back here and follow our rules and regulations, like everyone else!

Thanks,
THE SHRINK

It's not that hard!

Spive, I understand where you come from when you attack CR books and other 3rd world books. But there is no reason to go after this book.

They have some of the best lines out there and have received payment literally in seconds from these guys.

I am guessing you are one hell of a pissed off guy in real life.

For anyone that cares about the meat and potataoes of the $50 offer, I have used it before:

If you deposit $500, your account balance shows as $500, but you can actually place a bet for $550.

Let's say you place a bet for $550 on a +100 bet and you win - your account balance will now show $1,050, but you will actually have $1,100 to bet with at this point. If you want to make a withdrawal at this point, the max you can take out is $1,050 - if you take out the $1,050, your balance will now read 0, but you will still have the $50 left to place a bet with.

In summary, it never "looks" like you have the extra $50 in your account, but you can always bet $50 more than what your balance is showing. Once you place a losing bet with this $50, the $50 is now gone (of course).

It's true that you can never withdraw the $50, but unless you never lose a bet for the rest of your betting life, you will eventually lose this $50 at some point. Up until that point, you can freely withdraw all winnings that result from bets made with the $50.

In this case, the bottom line is: forget about whatever the complicated rules say regarding the bonus. It's a free $50 - take it. They're a good book, too.

a couple of people suggested to use australian based establishments. after reading this topic i am assuming this is a good sportsbook to use. is that correct? i see they are obviously a new advertiser. does that make them less dependable than others that have advertised here longer?

big john,

betworks.com is just as dependable as any of our other advertisers. being new to the site means nothing. with football season starting soon, you will see a lot of new advertisers.

bottom line is that betworks is a great shop. you wont have any problems there.

good luck

John - you have NO worries with Betworks as far as the safety of your money. That is a strong point for them along with reduced vig.

Also as a side note their overnights come out approximately 30 minutes after the end of the last American game. If you like betting overnights it will give you an idea when their numbers come out.
