the governor of minn has been interacting with the pentagon since early in the am and military police have been alerted and are on a four hour readiness for deployment. for those who may not be aware, there is a law from 1807 which allows for deployment of the active military in times of insurrection. this was done in la in 1992 and it is obvious that local law enforcement is totally out numbered and cannot cope with the rioters.

They cannot perform state law enforcement duties. It's against the law. Can they perform duties that will free up state police officers to be on duty? Yes but that's it.
