disagree strongly with the Iverson posts. He single handily took his team to the Finals against the Lakers and single handily won game 1.. I think if anything Iverson was underrated.

Players who were always overrated:
T-Mac
Baron Davis
Stephon Marbury
Penny Hardaway
Grant Hill
Rudy Gay

Not totally disagreeing with your list Gyno but most of the guys you listed had their careers effected by injuries.

It's a difficult arguement when that that is brought into the equation.

So if we talk before injuries, or if injuries would have never occurred, then McGrady, Hill, and most of all, Hardaway would never be included in an 'overrated' debate

Penny was unstoppable before that knee injury.
I still remember him abusing Pippin and Jordan both in that playoff series in what I believe was only his 2nd year...

Seems like he gets a fresh start each year. Someone likes him.

Yes, but that does not make him overrated. Tons of players hang around and get contracts because they can fill a position or play a part. And you said he's good because he is in the NBA. But it is all relative, of course he is good compared to everyone else, but not good compared to the elite/upper tier nba players
