Assuming a party in power is doing a relatively 'good' job and the economy is good and etc, what is the role of the opposition? Ideally, one would expect the opposition to rally behind the government because it is for the best interest of the country but that doesn't happen. What does happen is the opposition clings onto something that will try to undermine the government (which will not be in the best interest of the country) as they themselves will try to grab hold of power.
Politics is a dirty game.

absolutely correct, as long as you are referring to both parties.

It's sad, but I think you are right. I wish parties would talk about a better way of doing things instead of just saying the current party is wrong.

I guess that's the state of the world today.....ME....ME...ME...

Very sadly true.
A lot of repubs spent 8 years trying to undermine Clinton rather than anything positive for the country. The whole impeachment was one of the worst examples of what you refer to.

I agree its a blood sport...especially when the party of peace, love and soul train are out of power, they love free speech just not against them...they love diversity...by their definition...they love equality just so long as some are more equel than others.
