It's completely amazes me that a movie as good as this one can only gross $12mil, yet the shitty sci-fi movies can gross hundreds of millions.

It's a crying shame that so many people don't get what reality is or what is actually going on in places like Iraq or Afghanistan.

And if the Road Warrior says it, it must be true..

Figured I would bump this since it was nominated for a bunch of Golden Globes tonight.

If you haven't seen it, do yourself a favor and go rent it.

Awesome movie.

the hurt locker is on my ppv now, but i hesitate to watch it because i find myself counting the bullshit in iraq type movies....

i watched year 1 the other night, hadn't even heard of it until i watched the trailer, then i decided to buy it.....it was good for a few laughs

Ya. Year one was kind of funny. Watched it with the X. Anything I can do to mildly amuse that tramp is just cake.

jurassic park should be remade in 3d@)
They would have to do it from the ground up. Don't you remember how terrible the CG was on those dinosaurs? I think JP was one of the first movies to make big time use of CG. And looking back on it, it shows.

i have part 3 in now, got my back to it though. i ain't no expert, but i'm sure they could put something together. the effects ain't that bad.

i watched king kong the other night and it's 10 years newer than JP, and i didn't see much difference in the CG quality....

even the shittiest movies are worth a couple hours if they put some stuff together to make you say

"wow"

The Hurt Locker won't disappoint. I think it's the best war movie that has come out in the past 20 years. Definitely the best one with regards to the Iraq war.

at first, when i saw the 800 bombs disarmed quote, i was a bit skeptical.

but when i thought about it, these were the guys who went out and cleared the roads before every logpak we did, so it's more believable. EOD is certainly no easy job. and there's a fine line too -- if your convoy was running late for some reason, there's a small timeline until you have to call them to clear the shit again.....a support element does not push forward unless the scouts have cleared the way.....we had an EOD element detatched with us and these guys were always getting called out to go on mission, i just kept being glad that i wasn't them......

i'll give it a look tomorrow:103631605

My college roommate was EOD for 4 years before he went to college....he's got some crazy ass stories of what they did. He's the one that recommended the film to me a year ago.

yeah, EOD i wouldn't fuck with......i fucked up and volunteered to patrol with the scouts on my last deployment, and was around some EOD guys in the process.....most of them were 7 or 8 years younger and shared the same rank or outranked me.....ain't no way i'd do that shit though....

fuck getting woke up at 1 a.m. after a two hour nap off of a 10 hour mission and put your life on the line to check out a possible IED a young Private thinks he sees.....that was the worst part for the guys i talked to.....90% of the time it's an easy fix, but that 10% of the time is always at the hardest hours.....
