Am I the only one that bit here at +175? It's actually +190 now. If Charlie's Angels stays around 60 million, there's a good chance this could cash. Even though the Hulk looks kinda fake, etc. in the previews, I think the hype and pre-existing popularity of the Hulk character might be enough to bring in X2 numbers, around 85 million. Maybe a little less, or more(???) CA2 is being hyped to death, but you can only get so much from advertising... Maybe it's just me but this one looks somewhat less interesting than the last one, which I actually didn't think was that bad,

Overall the marketing is very good, but there's not really anything in the preview that makes me go "wow." Benrie Mac does have some funny lines, though. It looks like pure sugar-coated fluff. First one made 40. First Fast and the Furious made 40. So why should this do more than 60 when 2F2F only did 50? Apparently CA made twice as much in video rentals or rentals and sales or something than FAF. So I think it could, but as JCambert says, there's TREMENDOUS VALUE HERE! The board is dead so I thought I'd post another one of my crappy plays, sorry to anyone waiting to get a number better than +190 before jumping on it. I didn't think it would go higher than 175 but there it is.
Never found solid theater estimates for these. CA2 might open in around 3300 theaters(?) There were those early rumors that Univeral or whoever was going to try to cut their losses and not push the Hulk too much, and only release it in around 2700 theaters, but I think those turned out to be bunk. It's now rumored to be 3000+ theaters... Hopefully it turns out to be 3400, where it should be. I'm already seeing more advertisements for this one popping up, and expect the hype to accelerate as the opening draws nearer. The Hulk will be competing directly with CA2's second week it's opening weekend, but that shouldn't matter too much. It's also getting mixed reviews from the leaked "work print" on the internet, but I have a feeling that the positive reviews will outnumber the negative ones when it's all said and done. The single review so far at rotten tomatoes is very positive, and I've seen a couple of others that are good as well. Although most people don't pay much attention to reviews, or don't let them alter their decision to see a movie, I do think they do usually have a small influence on a movies performance. It's similar to word of mouth.
Anyways, I was leaning towards CA2 early when it was +25 million before the price rose to -230, +22 million. Now, I still think it could go either way but I think the numbers say that the Hulk has a decent shot at kicking those beyotches in the cock holsters.
