sorry to hear that harry.....

but unless you guys made identical amounts, it really isn't 25% of your income....

hopefully you made more so the % drop is smaller....for example, if you made 100k and she made 50k, you go down to 95k and she is down to 40k....150k --> 135k and a 10% drop....

hang in there.....we are all feeling the pinch (some more than others)

How would it be a 25% drop with them both making the same?

I would assume that the majority of us here at TheRX are worse off financially than they were 1.5 years ago.

I hate to be technical, but if you are both making the same amount, a 20% drop in one salary and a 5% drop in the other would result in a 12.5% combined reduction.

It still sucks, but 25% combined would be much worse.

^Yep
If you both make $100k
You got cut 5% (to $95k)
Your wife got cut 20% (to $80k)

80,000 + 95,000 = 175,000

175,000/200,000 (old income) = 87.5%

Yes you are correct I miss calculated, 12.5% is correct. Hey I don't feel that bad anymore!!! Think I'll bet some NCAA hoop today. I wasn't trying to complain I guess I just meant this economy is really getting scary. I'm very grateful we still have jobs as some people have lost everything. One day at a time and enjoy this ride they call life.
