In the end we will remember not the words of our enemies but the silence of our friends. - MLK Jr.

John McKay, coach of the TB Bucs, when asked about his teams execution, he responded:

"I'm all in favor of it."

Now, that was a great speech. Probably second best to Valvano's.

Again, not sports related, but here's another I like...

I have to nominate the speech I made my jr yr in Hs to a certain 17 yr old cheerleader while trying to get her panties off in the backseat of my dad's car. I can't remember all of the words but I do know she was moved enough to cooperate.

JoeyC,

It's bringing back memories. I just know that to measure something, success must be achieved and I scored so that meant my speech was successful. And she swore I was the first. I probably was, that day.

JoeyC,

I'm an equal opportunity banger. A wise old man told me this one time "Son, don't ever cull one. You never know when it might be your last one".

The Bobby Knight 'critics can kiss my ass' speech was one of my favorites - glad someone here mentioned it.

From recent years, I have to nominate Jim Fassel's 'This team is going to the playoffs...' speech a few years. This was when the New York Giants were in a slump and coach Jim Fassel delivered this speech. After that, the Giants won every game and went to the Super Bowl.

Don't remember the whole thing exactly but some of it went like... "This team is going to the playoffs...If this is a poker game, I am putting all my chips in the middle of the table...If you want in, get in...If you want out, get out..."
