IT BEGINS: WSJ Demands “Too Conflicted” Mueller To Resign From Russia Probe

by Joshua Caplan 10 Comments

D.C. was set ablaze following reports that special counsel Robert Mueller was forced to fire FBI agent Peter Strzok from the Russia probe over anti-Trump text messages.

Screen-Shot-2017-12-02-at-12.37.51-PM-1-1.jpg

On Monday, the editorial board of the Wall Street Journal published an op-ed calling for Mueller to resign from the probe.
WSJ reports:

The Washington Post and the New York Times reported Saturday that a lead FBI investigator on the Mueller probe, Peter Strzok, was demoted this summer after it was discovered he’d sent anti- Trump texts to a mistress. As troubling, Mr. Mueller and the Justice Department kept this information from House investigators, despite Intelligence Committee subpoenas that would have exposed those texts. They also refused to answer questions about Mr. Strzok’s dismissal and refused to make him available for an interview. […]

The latest news supports our view that Mr. Mueller is too conflicted to investigate the FBI and should step down in favor of someone more credible. The investigation would surely continue, though perhaps with someone who doesn’t think his job includes protecting the FBI and Mr. Comey from answering questions about their role in the 2016 election.

Unlike the mainstream media, The Gateway Pundit has long believed the chief objective behind Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation is to nullify the results of the 2016 presidential election. In fact, while both liberals and conservatives declared the ‘honorable,’ ‘highly respected,’ Mueller was the correct man to lead the Russia probe, this website expressed deep reservations about the special counsel’s character and history as a prosecutor.

Michael Flynn’s guilty plea, followed by a tweet sent out by President Trump’s lawyer John Dowd, appearing to imply the White House was aware of the former National Security Advisor lied to the FBI, has brought an odd, new focus to the mission behind Mueller’s probe. Former Chief Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrew C. McCarthy writes in the National Review that Mueller’s end game is now clear as day; impeach the 45th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump.

“It is now an obstruction investigation,” McCarthy writes in reference to Mueller’s probe, “Which means that it’s an impeachment investigation.”

Assuming I am correct about Mueller’s theory, its fatal flaw as a vehicle for prosecution is the same as it has always been: As president, Trump had incontestable power to exercise prosecutorial discretion and to fire the FBI director. […] The FBI and the Justice Department are not a separate branch of government; they are subordinates of the president delegated to exercise his power, not their own. Even on Comey’s account, Trump did not order him to shut down the Flynn investigation, even though he could have. Trump could have ordered an end of the Russia counterintelligence investigation, but he did not.

Michael Flynn, former National Security Advisor to President Trump, pleaded guilty Friday to making false statements to the FBI about contacting Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak during the transition.

BREAKING: TOP MUELLER OFFICIAL Praised Sally Yates For Defying Trump Travel Ban

by Joshua Caplan 15 Comments

In an email obtained by conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch, Andrew Weissmann, special counsel Robert Mueller’s right hand man, praised then-acting attorney general Sally Yates for standing up to President Trump’s travel ban order.

Fox News reports:

A top prosecutor who is now a deputy for Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia probe praised then-acting attorney general Sally Yates after she was fired in January by President Trump for refusing to defend his controversial travel ban.

The email
, obtained by Judicial Watch through a federal lawsuit, shows that on the night of Jan. 30, Andrew Weissmann wrote to Yates under the subject line, “I am so proud.”

He continued, “And in awe. Thank you so much. All my deepest respects.” […]

Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton called the new Weissmann document an “astonishing and disturbing find.”

“Andrew Weisman, a key prosecutor on Robert Mueller’s team, praised Obama DOJ holdover Sally Yates after she lawlessly thwarted President Trump,” he said in a statement. “How much more evidence do we need that the Mueller operation has been irredeemably compromised by anti-Trump partisans?”

As The Gateway Pundit‘s Cristina Laila reported, Judicial Watch filed a FOIA lawsuit for Sally Yates’ Justice Department Emails from 1/21/17-1/31/17 (when she was fired).

Judicial Watch originally requested Yates’ emails on February 1, 2017, however; the Defendant failed to produce the records requested.

Via Judicial Watch:

(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch announced today that it has filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Justice for emails of former Acting Attorney General Sally Yates from her government account. The lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of Justice (No. 1:17-cv-00832)).

The suit was filed after both the Justice Department failed to respond to a February 1, 2017, FOIA request seeking access to her emails between January 21, 2017, and January 31, 2017.

Hillary loyalist, Obama appointee and former acting Attorney General Sally Yates was invited by the Senate to testify against President Donald Trump in regards to Russia tampering with the 2016 US Election.

The bombshell report comes amid a barrage of criticism directed at Mueller after it was revealed anti-Trump FBI agent Strzok, who was fired from the Russia probe, personally changed key language that former Bureau Director James Comey used to describe Hillary Clinton’s email conduct.

Latest revelations make the entire ‘collusion’ probe look like a partisan hit

By Post Editorial Board

December 5, 2017 | 6:48pm | Updated

So Peter Strzok wasn’t just a top investigator for special counsel Robert Mueller until he was axed for anti-Trump and pro-Clinton bias: He was also a major player in the Hillary email probe and the FBI work that led to the “collusion” investigation.

FBI agent kicked off Mueller probe changed language in Comey's Clinton memo

And Mueller and the FBI both dragged their feet on sharing key info about all this with Congress.Including the news that Strzok was the one who changed then-FBI chief Jim Comey’s draft languageon Clinton’s use of that private server from “grossly negligent” to “extremely careless” in the final version.

That’s huge, because the statute specifies that gross negligence in the handling of classified info is itself a crime, whatever the intent — though Comey declared that Clinton shouldn’t face prosecution precisely because she had no “intent” to break the law.

Strzok also conducted the FBI interviews of Clinton and her top aides, Cheryl Mills and Huma Abedin, in the email probe.

More, he was reportedly one of the major FBI figures urging investigations on the basis of the “Steele dossier” of Russian-sourced scurrilous anti-Trump allegations, which we now know was commissioned by the Clinton campaign.

More, he signed the documents that opened the ensuing “collusion” probe. And he led the FBI interview of Gen. Mike Flynn, in which Flynn told the lies that eventually forced him out as

Trump’s national security adviser, and for which he’s now pleaded guilty in a deal with Mueller.

Meanwhile, Mills and Abedin’s testimony in their interviews has been shown false in one major regard: Contrary to their denials, each had been well aware of Clinton’s private server — they had to deal with the office fallout whenever it went down. Unlike Flynn, though, they never faced charges for lying to federal investigators.

Which makes President Trump’s request to Comey to go easy on Flynn look reasonable enough.

The public doesn’t know just how egregious Strzok’s bias was, and won’t until the release of his texts with his mistress, an FBI lawyer who (sigh) was also on Mueller’s team.

But as things stand, it now looks like the fix was well and truly in on the Hillary probe. Far worse, it also looks like the “collusion” probe was a partisan hit from the start — which undermines the basis for Mueller’s own investigation.

What a mess.

Former Independent Counsel Slams ‘Brazen and Blatant Political’ Investigation of President Trump

A former independent counsel laments the “arrogance” of special counsel Robert Mueller in stacking his legal team investigating the president with partisans in an exclusive interview with Breitbart News.

“This is about appearances,” Joseph diGenova tells Breitbart News. “For Mueller to hire all of these people who made so many contributions to Hillary Clinton was a decision of such arrogance and indifference to appearances. You just can’t have the optics of that and not have your work questioned. And [Peter] Strzok has just brought it to the fore.”

Mueller dismissed Strzok from his investigation. But he still holds a position at the FBI.

“He didn’t get fired,” diGenova points out. “He just got demoted.”

“I chose people from my old U.S. attorney’s office with whom I had a relationship and one or two people with the Department of Justice that I knew,” diGenova explains about his investigation into George H.W. Bush administration figures accused of snooping into candidate Bill Clinton’s passport records. “I was looking for professionals, people with no ax to grind, apolitical people.”

“He exercised the worst type of judgement in two very sensitive cases,” di Genova tells Breitbart News of Strzok. “This guy has become an embarrassment to the bureau, but no more than James Comey and Andrew McCabe, who have done more to destroy the credibility of the bureau than J. Edgar Hoover ever did. The brazen and blatant political effort by Comey is now without question.”

On Fox News Tuesday night, Laura Ingraham reported that yet another one of Robert Mueller's deputies in his Russia investigation is compromised due to her track record as a blatant partisan.

Jeannie Rhee, who was hired by Mueller last summer to work on the probe, was the personal attorney of Ben Rhodes and also represented the Clinton Foundation, Ingraham revealed. "This information will put further pressure on Special Prosecutor Bob Mueller to resign."

[h=1]Special counsel team members donated to Dems, FEC records show[/h]
Washington (CNN) Three members of the legal team known to have been hired so far by special counsel Robert Mueller to handle the Russia investigation have given political donations almost exclusively to Democrats, according to a CNN analysis of Federal Election Commission records.

More than half of the more than $56,000 came from just one lawyer and more than half of it was donated before the 2016 election, but two of the lawyers gave the maximum $2,700 donation to Hillary Clinton last year.

Attorney Gregg Jarrett: ‘Mueller Investigation is Illegitimate and Corrupt; FBI Acting Like KGB’ (VIDEO)

by Cristina Laila 14 Comments

Attorney and Fox News Legal Analyst Gregg Jarrett said to Hannity Wednesday evening that the Mueller investigation is “illegitimate and corrupt”. Jarrett also went on to say that the FBI is acting like ‘the old KGB that comes for you in the dark of the night’.

avmOLLM7-600x314.jpeg

“The Mueller investigation is illegitimate and corrupt and Mueller has been using the FBI as a political weapon,” Jarrett said.

“The FBI has become America’s secret police. Secret surveillance, wiretapping, intimidation, harassment and threats. It’s like the old KGB that comes for you in the dark of the night banging through your door,” Jarrett continued.

Jarrett brought up the FBI’s treatment of Paul Manafort and how they busted down his door with guns drawn in a pre-dawn raid.

“The FBI is a shadow government now. It has become highly politicized. Peter Strzok is the perfect example of it and he led both the Hillary Clinton investigation and until recently the Mueller investigation. This is a guy who has corrupt political motives,” Jarrett said.

Jarrett also brought up Andrew Weissmann who is another corrupt anti-Trump Mueller hack who praised then-acting AG Yates for refusing to enforce Trump’s travel ban.

Brit Hume Doubts Mueller Will Tell the Truth if He Comes Up Empty

BY STEPHEN KRUISER DECEMBER 5, 2017

Like many Americans, venerable news anchor Brit Hume finds some of the recent revelations about the ongoing Mueller investigation into Russia and Trump to be very unsettling. Hume was an early critic of James Comey, and now he levels some very harsh doubts about the integrity of Robert Mueller.

BOOM! Rep. Jim Jordan Goes Scorched Earth On FBI Director Over Trump-Hater Peter Strzok (VIDEO)

“Let’s remember a couple of things about the dossier,” he said. “The Democratic National Committee and the Clinton campaign, which we now know were one and the same, paid the law firm who paid Fusion GPS who paid Christopher Steele who then paid Russians to put together a report that we call a dossier full of all kinds of fake news, National Enquirer garbage and it’s been reported that this dossier was all dressed up by the FBI, taken to the FISA court and presented as a legitimate intelligence document — that it became the basis for a warrant to spy on Americans.” […]

“The easiest way to clear it up is tell us what’s in that application and who took it there,” Jordan said. […]

Jordan finished with this: “Here’s what I think — I think Peter Strozk … Mr. Super Agent at the FBI, I think he’s the guy who took the application to the FISA court and if that happened, if this happened, if you have the FBI working with a campaign, the Democrats’ campaign, taking opposition research, dressing it all up and turning it into an intelligence document so they can take it to the FISA court so they can spy on the other campaign, if that happened, that is as wrong as it gets.”

And guess who gave a copy of this rag to the FBI ?

POS !!!

Senator John McCain passed documents to the FBI director, James Comey alleging secret contacts between the Trump campaign and Moscow and that Russian intelligence had personally compromising material on the president-elect himself.
