There are 45 million U.S. children in pre-K, kindergarten, elementary, or middle school.

Only 28 children aged 1-15 have died of
#COVID19. Not 28 million—28

we *know* that the risk of children dying of #COVID19 is comparable to, or much lower than, dying of influenza/pneumonia

Every death from #COVID19 is a tragedy. But that doesn't mean we should keep schools closed. In 2009-10, 317 U.S. children died in a major swine flu pandemic. We didn't close schools in 2009-10

German researchers believe that "children may even act as a brake on infection. " A Univ. of Münster study suggests that hospitalized patients in regular contact w/ children were much less likely to need to go to the ICU

They are already wheedling for mostly (or all) remote, online learning in NYC; the teachers' unions
are running amuck trying to get their members paid for doing almost nothing. Phony "health/safety"
issues are being cited, but of course they had MONTHS to raise these concerns. Huge concessions have
already been granted and these leech unions keep demanding more. They should NEVER again say that
their students are their #1 priority. It's very obvious that they are not.

School districts are caving fast. Two major districts in our area that had announced in-person classes 2 wks ago have now flipped to full remote in the last 24 hours. One surveyed parents twice this summer and both times over 60% responded in favor of in-person.

But as the nation's children prepare to return to the classroom, many schools are taking matters into their own hands -- by chopping up the furniture.

In our area in Pa, you can do either, in person or remote from home .......several relatives that have college students will be doing remote from home.

Governor Wolf stated that all highschool sports should be canceled until 2021.......but as of now, most high schools locally stated they will start sports two weeks later than usual.........gonna be interesting to see if they cancel.

You would be correct...

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer admitted Friday that regardless of any other COVID-19 relief efforts, the economy won't be able to recover unless the schools are opened, according to The Hill.
