After 7 or 8 games, I have to say this is the most unpredictable I have seen the EPL the past few years. No teams have really been consistent the past few games. A few things Ive noticed.

Blackburn now sucks. *Friedel is giving up goals galore*

Liverpool is better than last year but not by much.

Newcastle is going nowhere at present time.

Lowly Birmingham is playing great.

Tottenham is in shambles.

Charlton can lose as easily as theyc an win.

Manchester City can play great and then lose to Wolves.
Arsenal is not as powerful as they used to be on offense.

Wolves games would go flying over except they cant score.

At this rate, only teams like Chelsea, Man U and Arsenal are winning day in and day out but they're too big of favorites to be betting them. In general, I have to say it has been a very difficult begining and this season is completely unpredictable.

Go figure...

slim,

this is the beauty of sport! unpredictability!

i know wat u are saying tho.. but if sport was so predictable we wouldnt be allowed to bet on it!

that line last week for man city was practically giving u the winner of the game! man city were in not great goal scoring form the week before they blew several chances and wolves yet to win (who were unlucky to win the week before) puting man city -0.5 even?! everyone and their dog was on it! u can read lines like this easy.. books dont hang bad lines like this much at all

u can get over the odds like for example arsenal vs liverpool last week, but only bet value on your really top sides, if your getting value for your lower or middle sides dont play them! but if u must only play them small

just a thought, gl with upcoming games man

Totals also have been unpredictable....started off really high, more than average and now its around back to 'normal'. I'm trying my luck at hockey starting today, gotta love 'american' sports, they sure are more predictable.

As Slim pointed out after Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal the performance of the other EPL teams has been very unpredictable. Just when you see one of the mid-table teams step up and play a good match, they follow that up with a lousy game. Totals started out with a large amount of overs and now they have come back to normal. The one thing that has most surprised me is the number of goals in Serie A. Ususally out of the EPL, La Liga, German Bundesliga and Serie A, the Italian League is the lowest scoring league but this season they have averaged the most. Below I have listed 3 clubs that have been big disappointments in the early season.

Newcastle- They should be ashamed of themselves. Their crashing out of the Champion's League and their pathetic start to the EPL season are an embarassment.

Inter Milan- Although they have started out well in the Champion's League, their Serie A performances have been pretty drab. Their offense stinks which tends to happen when to let a quality striker like Hernan Crespo go and then don't replace him.

Barcelona- This team spent a lot of money in the offseason and they still can't play. I thought Ronaldhino made a mistake signing there instead of with Man Utd and now he probably feels the same way.

i couldn't agree more, barcelona is in serious need of some radical changes in the roster, you can say anything about van gaal, antic or raicard, but the fact of the matter is that most of the team's players just don't click in well with each other, or at least as much as they should at such high level. It's a shame to watch top class players like ronnie, saviola, pujol etc. underperforming in what looks more like an all star get together than a team. As for inter, i am surprised with their italian form, considering the players they got, and i think their main problem is not in the attack, imo right now young nigerian martins is slightly better than crespo, but in a slow, unimaginative, and unproductive midfield.

Being a toon army fan, I must say I am very disappointed with the way they have started the year. I mean come on, that team is soo talented. I thought the arrival of Bowyer would really helped the midfield but so far, this team has done nothing and I mean nothing. The way they handled the Partizan series to enter the Champions League was a complete embarrasment. Then Robert opens up his huge mouth and attacks Robson, Bellamy has become a major bitch *this since I declared him my favorite player and bought his #17 jersey two years back*...

what a freaking disappointment this year is turning out to be......

Slim stick to the way you cap, things should settle down after a few more weeks. Teams like Newcastle and Middlesbrough will bounce back real soon, Malcolm Cristie is a great signing for McClaren, both teams will get around 12 Home wins this season.
