There was talk about this last season when Vegas came out with this Contest. and I have received a couple of questions about it this year.
So I'm willing to try it.
$500 Entry Fee ( ONE entry per household/ User name )
Winner Takes All + Plus ( 21+ entries, 2nd prize of $500 )
This contest will be held at a Special Website set up to run the Contest. But Spreads, Picks, results and talk can still be held here at The RX as Well....
The cost to run this contest on the website is $100 and will be taken out of the pot. ( there are no other extra costs )
RULES :
1. The season long non-refundable entry fee is $500.00. Money Order Entries accepted Until Wednesday, Sept 5th 2017. Pay*Pal Entries accepted until Sat, Sept 8th (ALL Payments must be received by Sat, Sept. 8th 2018 @ 3pm ET). Entries must be submitted before making selections for Week 1.
2. Each contestant will use his RX user name ONLY. ( No Team names ) * Max ONE Entry
3. Actual cash prizes will be based on total number of contestants, minus $100 for Contest website ( will be posted on or around Sept 12th )
4. This Contest is based on picking winning teams against the Spread. Contestants must select five teams per week. ( Sides Only )
(a) Contestants may not select both sides of the same game. Any violation results in a double loss.
(b) Any selections that are duplicated will be graded first by the actual outcome and any subsequent duplications will be automatic losses.
5. Please note all Contest Lines listed are playable, even if the game goes OTB (Off the Board) at a later date.
6. Contest winners will be determined by the total number of points accumulated during the NFL Football regular season. Each winning selection will be credited with one point. Ties (pushes) count as one half point.
7. Contestants must submit their weekly selections by 3 pm Eastern time each Saturday afternoon, except when contestant wishes to use any game that starts before the deadline. If a contestant wishes to use any game that is scheduled to start before this deadline, ( ie, Wed, Thur or Sat game ) their 5 weekly selections must be submitted prior to the start of those games. Any pick set using an early game that is submitted late will be charged with a loss for any game that starts before the deadline. Any contestant who fails to submit weekly selections by 3:00:59 pm Eastern time on Saturday will earn zero points for that week. This time deadline will be strictly enforced.
8. Weekly Lines will be Posted Each Wednesday Night ( we will use LVH / Westgate Lines ).
9. Only RX Members can Enter to Play ( You MUST have an RX User name and have at least 25 Posts to Enter, and 50 by Contest End ).
* If you do NOT have at least 25 Posts, Do NOT Enter, your Payment will be Returned
9a. Don't have 50+ posts, by the week before the end of the Contest ... well if You cash, You will get 10 % deducted.
Because These Contests are put together for the Posters of the RX and wouldn't be fair for the RX posters that come here Daily or weekly.
10. Gold Prize Structure: WINNER TAKES ALL. First place will receive 100% of the prize pool.( Minus the $100 Website Fee )
The contestant accumulating the most points over the professional football regular season will win the aggregate prize pool.
In the event of a tie, the prize pool will be divided equally amongst those accumulating the most points during the contest period. Any disputes must be made in writing during the three (3) day verification period.
10A. If we receive 21+ entries, then we will go with a 2nd Place Prize of $500, in the event of a Tie here,the prize pool will be divided equally amongst those 2nd place finishes.
11. Entry fees will not be refunded for reasons other than the cancellation of the This Contest.
12. After the final winner(s) are posted on Tuesday, January 1, 2019, a three (7) day verification period will occur. Any disputes with the contest and results or prize allocation must be provided to me in writing within this verification period. At the end of the seven (7) day verification period, the LVH Style SuperContest Gold results will be declared official.
* The Contest Website will post each week the Weekly Spreads, and will have the Results up as well.
