Eek, again, your whole argumentation is that it will forever be impossible for science to explain the origin of matter and energy. For this assertion you offer exactly nothing except your word. So your line of reasoning is that Creation should be taught because you say science will not be able to explain everything. Don't you realise yourself how ridiculous this is? I guess not even fundy christians will accept your word as gospel.
You just don't have the ability to understand his point's of view do you? He has been very clear and very reasonable. Open your mind up a lttle bit more, ahhh, there ya go....

Edge, I understand Eek's point of view very well. I just choose to think that it's not viable. You simply cannot base a point of view on nothing else than your personal beliefs, like eek does when he says science will never be able to explain the origin of everything.

But I am not surprised that you are not getting my point. What is there to be expected of someone who thinks the resurrection of Jesus is an undisputable fact?

So just because you say that a certain problem/question will never be solved it means teaching unscientific fairy tales about it is okay?

If, IF, it were indeed so that the origin of all the energy and matter in the universe could never be solved then this should be taught in schools and it be left at that. Even in this case I can see no reason at all to teach Creationism.

Strongest post of this thread so far

Current evolutionary theory is quite reasonably subject to constant analysis and addition of new data as fast it can be assembled.

But just because it's not fully complete should not inspire us to cheerlead for the teaching of mythological fairy tales as a supposed "alternative" line of thought.

At least not within science curriculum.

Perhaps in a literature course on Mythology & Fairy Tales or a Compartive Religious Studies course. But even both of those are dubious entries into a public school curriculum. As a parent I want to see 95% of curriculum devoted to reading, writing, mathematics, science and social studies/history.

Anything else can be delivered at home and at church by those parents interested in such supplementary education.

Scientific superiority is your belief, as opposed to the various religious interpretations.

Dunno know about on your side of The Pond, but over here, the only people pushing for installation of "creationist" beliefs into public school curriculum have no interest in "various religious interpretations". They're only interested in one - as told in the Book of Genesis.

And hopefully when he's talking to the children about Jesus, he'll do it sober.
