its about time a head coach realized that you are better off giving your offense a chance to come back and win the game, then PRAY for a missed FG. good job capers!
Texans were up 1 with 1:20 left. And the jets were at the texans 10 and about to score. So the texans let the jets score a TD instead of letting the jets run the clock out and then kick a last second FG. (it has been done before, but not as often as it should).
Jets just stopped the texans at the 10. But the texans almost made capers look like a genious. Still a good call in my opinion. I hope that explains it.
Ive seen that before primetime, years ago, Jets vs. Bucs, Bucs let Jets score purposely so they could get the ball back. I agree, there are times teams/coaches should do it more if they need the ball back.
Actually, the Jets coach is the one that almost got outcoached. He should have warned his players, and had them fall down once they got a first down at the 4. Then take 2 knees and get the field goal with no time left. That is a 95% chance of winning v. a probably 80% chance the way he did it!
