After going 0-16 in confrence last year (Head coach was fired and team was in turmoil) and starting out this year 1-10 in non-confrence play it appears first year head coach Cy Alexander, from South Carolina State, has finially got this team headed in the right direction. They opened confrence play with a 3-1 record and host the last place Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks. Tenn.-Martin comes in at 0-5 in confrence play. Earlyer this year they lost last year's OVC newcomer of the year Sr. guard Earl Bullock for the year. To compound this they also just lost leading scorer (15.7ppg) Jr. guard Justin Smith for the rest of the year. Earlyer this month Tenn. St. beat Jacksonville St. at home 88-74. Jacksonville St. then went to Tenn.-Martin and won 96-85. Tenn. St. also hosted Samford and won 60-48 and then Samford went to Martin and won 51-45. These two teams are going in opposite directions and I see this as a double diget win for Tenn. St.
