Wil, with all due respect to Varitek and everything he's done for the Sox, he is two years past his prime, is considered an automatic out, and his throwing arm is now considered servicable at best.
Granted he is a positive influence in the clubhouse and works well with the staff, but face it, it's time to cut ties.
