I asked this question in the other thread about this and nobody would give a straightforward answer. I'll ask it again here-
What could a 4 year old little boy possibly do so wrong to deserve this punishment? What could he possibly have done so wrong? Did he spill his milk? Say a bad word?......what?.....

I have a mischievous 4 year old boy and he pushes my limits quiet often, but at no time have i thought of bruising him. Yes hes gotten a whack on the ass or two, but hes never gotten me to the point where i want to cause him welts. I also have never been so proud of myself that I texted what I did, quite the opposite, I felt like a complete shitheel.
Did AP probably go too far with his hitting with a switch? Probably. But was it completely overblown by the media, yes.
If you are any of the following: A) from the south, B) have one or both African American parents, C) would describe your parents as "god-fearing christians" or D) grew up in a military household there is a 95% chance that you were spanked, many times, and at least once in your life it was probably too hard. It is cultural in some cases, and related to the way that the parents were raised in others. But based on the by the book definition, a ton of parents who punish their children with spankings would need to relinquish their kids to Child Protective Services and face child abuse charges.
He made a mistake. He will learn from it. He will probably be a better father now. All is well with him playing for the Vikings ASAP IMO

In his opinion-
1) If you are from the south you automatically physically abuse children
2) if you are African American you physically abuse your children (where are all the race baiters on this board now?)
3) if you are a Christian then shoving leaves into a 4 year olds mouth before beating him is acceptable
4) the military obviously teaches you (and approves of) using a weapon to leave welts on a child in your care who hasn't even reached the ripe old age of 5
What was "well said" about this? How many of you posters who agree with what this guy did have children? If so do you do that to your children to discipline them?
It was well said. Just because you don't agree with it doesn't mean it's wrong. It might be excessive and if it is the law should describe strictly what parents can do to discipline their children. AP was beaten the exact same way and most likely worse as a child. It's how he grew up and probably did not realize the PC police would turn him it to a child abuser for doing something that he has known to be the correct punishment his entire life.
I don't agree with it, but parents have disciplined their kids for centuries. Now you can't even spank a child without softies going crazy. They'll survive just like they have for the entire history of humanity.
First of all, it is wrong......the courts agree with me. Second of all, it's not the PC police, it's the real police that are dealing with him. Third, if you can't understand that this is a lot (and I mean a lot) more than "a spanking", then there is something wrong.
