I am on Tarver here big. I cant stand the guy, and want to see him laid out, but Johnson wont be the guy to do it. Johnson did beat Jones, but he just used a constant pressure tactic and Jones couldnt get off. Tarver will get off here, and often. Tarver is a southpaw, has a bigger reach, better boxer and a harder puncher. Tarver has an advantage in every category here. When that is the case in boxing, im on it pretty big. I am on Tarver sat night with a rather large bet. I hate laying 3-1, but he should win this one handily.

I will probably take the under because Johnson is right in front of you and Tarver should like that. Johnson has a good workrate though but i believe if Tarver connects with something meaningful Johnson will be in trouble. because the one thing that is sure is that Tarver has a big punch, he can be outboxed but to outslug him is not a good idea.
But maybe i pass that one.

Two bets: 1.Johnson to win 2. Over 11.5 rds

I still think Tarver is overrated. Their just is no real talent at the light heavyweight. Why else would Tarver, a natural 175 pounder be calling out Hopkins? As a result, we are led to believe that Tarver is really good. I don't think so. I like Johnson's toughness, aggressiveness, and "no quit" attitude. The over actually serves as a hedge.

the more i look at this fight the more i like Johnson at +320, i probably take dec johnson but i dont understand your hedge idea. IMO johnsons chance are good if the fight goes the distance but if somebody get stopped its Glen and not Tarver. So maybe you win double not so bad after all.

Check out the analysis on compubox.
They predict Tarver via close ud but Tarver nowhere near a big favorite as - 350 and more important Johnson has a higher workrate as Tarver thats a fact that should not be neglected.

tarver`s gotta big frame...if he`s for real(and i don`t that that he`s a legit pfp guy),he shoould step up and make some big money fights with some high profile cruisers......like o`neil bell,or the winner of mormeck/braithwaite(helluva fight)...

i believe that after seeing jones look horrible after coming back down to light heavy after ruiz, that tarver`s wins over jones look tarnished...particularly after johnson whacked him......much like some say toney`s wins over jirov and holi look a little less impressive after their recent losses.....

the lt heavy division is sad....still like rico hoye a little despite the montell griffin performance.....

i`d like to see tarver step up in weight and fight some quality...not fight naturally littler men....if he`s really the goods, lets see it....

i don`t think he`s the goods....i saw eric harding beat him up once...and was on the way to doing again before he become exhausted in the 4th round....he then looked like death vs glen johnson and disappeared....i`ve heard some rumors...the guy just collapsed...

whatever...i`m not sold on tarver either...as a pfp guy....maybe i`m wrong....

beating up glen johnson won`t change my mind...

Tarvers ideal plan is to fight James Toney and Byrd. Even in the name cruisers you mention no real money for Tarver. A decent fighter but not a world beater. If he thinks he is better than he is (slack training etc) he could lose to Johnson or someone soon.

Looks like O'Neal Bell will be fighting Kelvin Davis on the same card as Braithwaite-Mormeck. I can't waite to see both of those fights, and I imagine the winner of those fights will take on each other. The cruiserweight division is very exciting right now, and I think the top 4 guys are p4p as good as the top 4 in any other division, besides 140.

yeah...it`s really ashamed that the general public isn`t a little more informed about boxing....aside from the heavyweight division...

because,imo,mormeck/braithwaite..........tarver/o`neil bell.......or any combination of the 4,intrigues me much more than tarver vs byrd or toney....i don`t think tarver would be strong enough to handle toney...or cute enough...from the looks of toney recently,he has the same pharmacist that mosley had for dlh2...lol

and throw 15-20 pounds on him and he`s still smaller than byrd...and probably slower....

a guy like ruiz, farce that he is,would overwhelm tarver....

he`s got a big frame....but he puts on 25-30 pounds and he`s still a smallish,slow heavyweight...

I think you guys are a bit over the top on the cruiserweights. Personally I think Dwight Braxton, Carlos De Leon and ST Gordon would have cleaned out the division if they were around today.

maybe...not so sure about de leon....not a knock at european fighters, but, the competition isn`t overall,as tough as it is stateside...

i was comparing the cruisers to todays ridiculous heavyweight picture...

and i`m not 100% certain that braxton/oawi at around 5`8" or 9" tall walks through a 6`3" power punching lefty with enormous reach like braithwaite...or walks through a bull(that`s what i`m told about mormeck..haven`t seen him)like mormeck...

just prior to qawi you had saad/muhammad,marvin johnson, john conteh, victor galindez, jorge ahumada, yaqui lopez, eddie gregory/mustapaha muhammad, richie kates and james scott fighting out of rahway prison.......

that was a murderer`s row...maybe one of the strongest divisions in boxing history next to the welters with hearns,leonard,benitez,duran,cuevas.....

forget the deleon comment...i was thinking of juan carlos gomez....i have a thing about those 2 names...a learning disability...

and i forgot mike rossman, lonnie bennett, lotte mwale, jesse burnett.... eddie and johnny davis...mate parlov.....that division was nuts.....and these guys were fighting 15,not 12....most times, these things never made it to the cards,though...

glad that i was a little to young to wager back then....and that there was no internet.....there was "to much action"....literally...

how do you come up with lonnie bennett? i use to watch him at the silver slipper with my dad when i was a kid. that was before he became ranked. michael spinks was at the tail end of that group you mentioned!

I took the over because I never thought that Tarver could KO Johnson. As I said before, Tarver is very overrated. Even in his win over Roy Jones, I was never impressed by him. And if you think about it, his win over Harding is what catapulted him into stardom because there just has not been a great deal of talent at the light heavyweight division.

I won some money but i am a little pissed because that was my kind of bet and with all the money won on Sanders and Klit i should have wagered at least 200 Bucks at + 730 that was a great opportunity.
I played every dog that was available last weekend the japanese guy actually knocked Beyer down in the second but unfortunately at the end of the round if he knocked him at the beginning of the round Beyer would have been in trouble.
What about the mexican who fought Simms i took based on the fight records and was told it was a unfair dec. Did you see the fight ?
Telesco got knocked against Gonzales.
Thats the beauty of betting big dogs, you can lose three out of four and still win good money.
Seems like the year is pretty much over boxingwise.
Some very interesting fights in January imo.
Good luck and a nice christmas
