you need to have them hosted somewhere, you cant have them hosted from your own computer - that would mean we would all connect to your actual desktop and look at your picture.

you need to upload them somwhere that offers a http:/www.whatever.com/whatever.jpg

thats how it works. right click on a picture on the internet, look at its properties, thats how it works.
