Maybe you should ask yourself why it bothers you so much that a black man is refusing to stand for a song written by a slave owner
Ask Marshall who Francis Scott Key is and I can almost guarantee you he will ask "who".....you gotta be kidding

many black people claim a love for Africa and how they want to visit so bad....yet there are slaves on that continent. Seems like a contradiction to me.

Yup. And we're sold to slave owners by other blacks...as well as blacks in the US who owned slaves themselves.

people can think what they want, of course. if he is protesting something other than AMERICA, what does the American Flag have to do with it? Hence, he (or they) are a piece of shit. I think it was Centaur that brought this up....when Donald Sterling had his thoughts, that was not acceptable but this should be? Cannot have it both ways.

That is a horrendous analogy bro.

you are missing the point. Donald Sterling has HIS beliefs and was forced to sell his team. These guys have their beliefs and everyone is supposed to respect those beliefs. It's similar to the nonsense going on at ESPN...have an opinion that leans to the left? All good or slap on the wrist. To the right? Fired or made to apologize

I realize it is fruitless to debate people who have no use for logic but let me say this:

These idiot protests are based on lies, directed not at something relevant but a symbol which will cause the most offense to the most people (the flag), carried out by extremely fortunate people who have benefited from the very people they offend.

Not only that, but if there is any police impropriety when it comes to NFL players it's too much leniency! These knuckleheads from college to the NFL have literally gotten away with rape and murder because of who they are.

This is actually a pretty good analogy. Didn't Sterling file a lawsuit?

yep. Funny how it over paid rich black dudes doing this. It's more for look at me look at me. Cause what have they been doing for their "repressed brothers" since they signed the big contracts until now?

It's really about your experiences. I don't like kaeperknivk at all but I understand all this. It's not about blacks. This country accepts all religions. So it's really time to accept all religions on a every day basis is what I get from it. I had 3 muslims from Afghanistan in my high school who would never stand for the flag. Nobody got mad or took it offensive. It should be what YOU stand for and those who create a negative perception of you because of that is really on them. Because that's what this country is about, accepting of your neighbor. Of course there are other ways to express your message. But honoring your country and not being accepting of people of color who stand up for what they believe is right....is contradictory in itself if you say you support this country.

I think white people don't even realize they are privileged. I'm able to think outside of my frame. But most white people think that's how it should be. But it's the fact that if you are born into white privileged even if you are not rich and privileged you still are white.

It's impossible to deny that being born with white skin in America affords people certain unearned privileges that people of another skin color simply are not afforded.

The problem with the disconnect is some black people understand this in the wrong context. They start to think it happens when they go shopping or the bank. That's little shit. The real shit is having to turn on your tv and see people of your race being widely represented. Or if a cop pulls you over. I'm white, I know the chances of me getting pulled over are low. I'm privileged. Applying for jobs, race matters. If you ask me that's the real shit. And if they even knew what they wanted to stand for maybe I'd get behind them but I forreal think kaeperknick doesn't even know what he wants to stand for. Because he has said nothing that I haven't heard a million times over.

sounds like your high school had a bunch of liberal pussies. Why were those Afghan muslims in this country? My Wife was born in Europe..if we moved to her homeland today and my kids went to their schools of course we would respect their flag.

It's a whole lot of people who want to call kaep piece of shit or a whole bunch of people who hate cops. There's no in between there. That's not going to improve anything if someone kneeling doesn't say some real shit

most cops I personally know are dicks. Most black people I know are cool. That being said, the black people in this discussion are wrong.
