I have bad seats for this one. Third deck, section I.
Florida has too much trouble defending the post passes. The opposing frontcourt players have far too easy a time getting position inside. Tenny killed UF on the boards last time out. I see Kentucky having similar success. I also don’t think Kentucky will go 2 for 19 or 3 for 18 from beyond the arc again. Kentucky is a great road team and I’d have to think taking the 4 points is the way to go here.
One weakness of the Cats (besides their recent inability to hit the outside shot) is their depth. Florida’s only won 1 of the last 7 vs. Kentucky and the lone win was a game in which Florida ran them outta the gym. I’d like nothing more than to see some full court pressure for the entire game and a fast tempo throughout. Unfortunately, it’s easier to slow down the game than it is to speed it up.
Florida’s big men easily get in foul trouble and they don’t have a knack for rebounding. Moss and Colas only managed 3 boards COMBINED vs. the Vols. That’s pathetic production from the center spot.
I agree that one never knows about this gator squad. If they shoot the ball like they did against Bama, it’s lights out. Should be a fun one to watch.
