Terrible final 50m by the French. The Americans had a great race, but the French had it in the bag. Forget who swam the final leg, but he cost the French a gold medal.

Was happily surprised with how well the Canadians did though. Very good race, especially by Haydon.

that final swimmer for France was their stud Bernard, he is one of the big faves to win the 100 freestyle, kind of ironic how he was the one who blew the big lead for them.

They just finished 6th in the race. They were second after the first leg thanks to Haydon, who actually finished ahead of Phelps.
