Over 2.5 set at -150 while under 2.5 at +120

Totals for both the other to games (Liverpool-Swansea and Tottenham-Norwich) are set at o/u 3. This seems real fishy to me. United and Chelsea met on the weekend in what was an entertaining 3-2 affair. So why is the line set at just 2.5? Everyone would be expecting 3, even 3.5 goals in this one. So 2.5 is a steal right? Why not jump all over this?

That's exactly what they want you to do. By setting it a 2.5 they lure in square bettors and the majority of the public. Everyone and their mothers will be on this over. Juicing the over is another way for them to lure in the public. They see the line set at 2.5 -150 and think it's the right play because it's juiced. Plus money is the easiest way to scare away square bettors. The line has not budged all week either. Public hammering the over and it remains at 2.5, but why?

I'll tell you why. Both teams fielding weaker lineups and in a cup game like this, neither team will be as motivated to win as they would for a league game, or even an FA Cup game. The Capital One Cup however is the least popular tournament in England, a spot where many top flight teams look to get a few new faces into the lineup. Of course both teams will field at least a few first team players, but how motivated will they be?

I expect a sluggish game of sorts and while both teams should have their chances, expect a serious lack of finish in front of goal. This isn't an official "tracked" play for me, but I'll be betting on the under 2.5 goals in this one without a doubt. I see a 2-0 finish for either side, even 1-1 forcing the game into extra time/penalties (which does not count towards this bet, the side bet or o/u strictly applies to the first 90 minutes).

UNDER 2.5 goals for me at +120

There's no way I'd even touch the UNDER. Esp because 5 goals were scored over the weekend. GL on the play...

Although this is a Capital One Match, neither team will take this game lightly. Chelsea will be looking to even the score after the last match (won by refs) and Utd will, at the very least, score one goal. 2-1 minimum score line.

Call me square, but I just can't lay money on the under when Utd and the Blues face each other. Over or nothing for me.

I know, I'm no longer on the under. When I woke up this morning line moved to 3... So I am not locking in a play on the under, I will be laying off this total completely. And you're right Lostyet, even though it is Capital One Cup, they are still rivals who will almost certainly be looking to get the best of the other.

It's the logical play in my opinion. I probably won't be playing it because about 90% of people are on it, but it is the logical play. Both teams will field weaker lineups which still means Chicharito and Sturridge will be in there so there will be quality in front of goal. I can't play it though. Too many people on it, and I can see a tight 1-0, 2-0 or 1-1 game.

GL to whatever you decide!

i wouldn't play under on any united match right now. has nothing to do what "they" want me to do

really don't know how people bet these cup matches. united are using same lineup as they did vs newcastle according to sir alex (although i don't expect rooney in there). basically 4 kids in defense, a manageable midfield, and probably welbeck/chicharito up front. that game ended 2-1 btw. chelsea lineup probably similar to wolves match with no mata and terry. so, very young backline and promising youngsters like piazon and moses in attack. they won that game 6-0...

chelsea 7 straight overs, united 8 straight. so i guess the over 2.5 on sunday was a sucker bet too ;)

this is a match where the over bettors will take the glory but the under bettors called it right....no chances to score and very little offense but 3 gifts for goals....had cech kicked it out and utd realizes moses cannot do anything so let him do whatever he wants it is probably 0-0 ht or maybe 0-1. It might take awhile for the 4th and a true winner for over punters but i see a few more gifts with these two sides....0-1 swansea music to my ears.....not even the 1960 beatles could rescue this liverpool mess......

sorry but in no way were the under players right...you can "if" all you want :)

really nice 4th and 5th goals and still a half hour to play (and damn close to a 6th just now)

no idea how the line for united/arsenal is only 2.75 ... we can't play defense and really have no interest in playing any. or as you call it allowing gifts for goals :)
