Anyone with a good read in any under the radar games. I imagine most pool picks will be divided among the biggest point spreads (7.5):

BUCS over Boys
Niners over LIONS
RAMS over Bears

A gutsy pick would be the Saints. I still remember how the Falcons laid down for that Katrina game.

Panthers over the Jets looks like a solid pick. How about the Tits at home over the Cards?

Miami or Houston anyone? Two Rooks making their league debut.

Saints are a 4.5 point underdog. Stupid pick, not gutsy.

It wouldn’t be that stupid. Many don’t believe Saints have a chance. Just like they don’t believe Winston has a shot? Watch him this yr. this isn’t Tampa Bay Winston. This is Sean P Winston.

There was quite a few teams who chose to sit starters in the preseason *, got think there will be some rust on those teams, so becareful.

I think a good sleeper would be Denver - how often would you consider them in the year....Giants have OLINE issues and Denver front 7 is stout.

I like that New Orleans Pick - I heard Payton say that a Hurricane Disaster makes him focus all that much more. Their Defense will be very good again & Packers Oline has question marks - No Bakatari yet and the new Centre is raw and bit knicked up.

I think Jamies is going to thrive in Payton's offense, When he was with Arians and had to drop back and throw bombs of course he was going to throw picks he also threw a lot of TD's.

* Chargers a good example - New coaching staff and the starters hardly played in the pre.

Some trivia - Famous Jameis actually beat Drew Brees and the Saints in the Dome on his first start as a rook for the Bucs. I remember that game well. 10 point dogs. Put a lot of people out in week 1.

I like the Broncos pick. Your reasoning is sound. I don't like betting against my team but there are times it must be done....

Thanks for the replies everyone. Keep them coming!

its fucking stupid. EV is negative at 56%. If you can’t comprehend basic survivor pool strategy you are stupid too.
It is one thing to avoid a popular team; it is quite another to select a +200 underdog in week 1 when you cant knock everyone out anyway.

Denver could be a good pick. Giants defense was looking ok to end the year but their offense is trash (and that’s my team). If saquon doesn’t play or is limited then even worse. Which may not matter with our abysmal offensive line. No clue why gettleman refuses to address that properly.

the glaring game to me is Vikings over bengals. First game back for burrow and chase not clicking with trash defense while the vikings have a solid offense and looked like they tried to strengthen the defense. I like vikings to win and cover.

Have to agree with Powerz on Denver. I am looking at San Fran, Carolina, Minnesota

Bucs, Bills, Chiefs, Rams and 49ers have the best EV for week 1

The Rams have the least future value, so they would be my pick

Rams have FV 7,8,13; 49ers have FV 15/17.
In my opinion 49ers have the least FV. Only 2 weeks and very late in season.

Rams FV by 5 or more 5 times
49ers FV by 5 or more 6 times

Both good picks
