haven't seen the whole race yet, but it sounds like smarty went down fighting. here's a few plays that i like from hollywood before i make my trek back to los angeles.

r1: summer lea. second time starter for jory should go much better in here and draws the coveted outside box in this elongated sprint. should also be a very bettable number in this week cal bred maiden claimer.

r6: sparkling forest. doesn't it seem like all the forest wildcat's can run? he'll be a big-time sire for a long time, particularly with two and three year olds. i fear ammalu fron the shirreffs barn drawn outside, but 'sparkling has had some sparkling works in the morning for baffert and the hot nakatani.

r8: makeup artist. i've never liked pesci, as she seems too headstrong to be graded stakes competitor routing, which is what she's asked to do today. summerwinddancer is as honest as they come, but she hasn't been able to get the job done against easier, so i'll pass on her today in open company. 'artist has always under delivered on her talent, but i'm hoping today's the day she shows her best stuff.

r9: swished and smokin vigor. going to make small plays on both of these maidens as thsi race is full of s-l-o-w fillies and mares. looking to upset the applecart with two of the more lightly raced fillies in here.

good luck.
