Week 8 1-2 -3.05 Units

Here are today selections:

7 Units Pittsburgh Steelers +1 -102

The undefeated Eagles (7-0 SU, 5-2 ATS) and upstart Steelers (6-1 SU, 5-2 ATS) will provide the game of the week for week 9 in the NFL. In an old fashioned smashmouth defensive battle, the Eagles survived the Baltimore Ravens 15-10. QB Donovan McNabb completed 18-of-33 passes for 219 yards and WR Terrell Owens caught eight balls for 101 yards and a touchdown. Each team played without their full offense. Eagles running back Brian Westbrook was inactive for the game with a cracked rib, but is expected to play this game. Surprisingly, The Eagles were actually outgained in total net offense, 327-298. Pittsburgh fans can forget all about Terry Bradshaw, Bobby Layne etc, the new name to remember is QB Ben Roethlisberger who has impressed week after week. Big Ben and the Steelers defense halted New England's NFL-record 21-game winning streak with a 34-20 victory. Roethlisberger, who threw for 196 yards and two touchdowns, has won his first five starts. Plaxico Burress was on the receiving end of both Roethlisberger TD passes and RB Duce Staley racked up 125 yards on 25 carries. Jerome Bettis chipped in 65 yards rushing and a score for the Steelers. Both teams winning with regularity. The Eagles won the last meeting in 2000, 26-23 in Pittsburgh. The Eagles run defense is suspect, allowing 4.9 yards per rush, 113 per game, and Pittsburgh has a deep ground game. The Steelers toppled Super Bowl Champs easilly last week and they're at home again as they continue the string of beating the unbeaten.

7 Units San Diego Chargers -6.5 -110

Tough spot for the defenseless New Orleans Saints (3-4 SU, 2-5 ATS). They barely beat the miserable Raiders the last game, while the Chargers just hammered Oakland, 42-14. Defense is a major problem: The Saints give up 27 points and 417 total yards pg (second worst in the NFL). They can’t stop the run or the pass! The defense is allowing 275 yds passing, 141 rushing yards per game, 4.7 yards per carry. That run defense is third-worst in the NFL. The offense is averaging 22 points, 326 yards per game (93 yds rushing, 232 yds passing pg) behind QB Aaron Brooks (9 TDs, 3 INTs) and RB Deuce McAllister (280 yards, 3.4 ypc). A high ankle sprain has contributed to McAllister's down year. The Saints are 3-1 ATS the last 4 against the Chargers, but they will struggle to stop a highly potent San Diego offense. The Chargers (5-3 SU, 6-1 ATS) are outscoring opponents by a 27-20 average with an offense that averages 134 yds rushing (8th), 4.4 yards per carry, and 185 yds passing pg (19th). And the defense allows 81 yds rushing (No. 1 in NFL), 249 yds passing pg (27th in NFL). QB Drew Brees is cooking, with 14 TDs and 3 picks, surrounded by talent such as RB LaDainian Tomlinson (7 TDs, 4.0 yds per carry), newcomer WR Keenan McCardell and WR Antonio Gates (546 yards, 5 TDs). San Diego is 3-1 SU/ATS at home, where they are whipping teams by a 36-22 average! This is why San Diego is 4-0 OVER the total at home. New Orleans is 5-2 OVER the total, so these teams are a combined 10-5 OVER the total in all games. The Bolts had 33 first downs and 175 rushing yards last week. Look for a lot of points and another big win by the up-and-coming home team.

Good Luck Today,

5 Units Arizona Cardinals +3 +107

The Cardinals' dropped their third game in the last four when they were stampeded 38-14 by the Buffalo Bills. QB Josh McCown completed only 9-of-24 passes for 101 yards. He did throw a touchdown pass to Bryant Johnson. WR Anquan Boldin, who saw his first action of the season for Arizona after missing the first six games with torn cartilage in his right knee, caught four passes for 50 yards in the loss. The Dolphins returned to their losing ways and were roughed up by the Jets on MNF 41-14. Miami struggled against the Jets defensive line which controlled the game throughout. The Jets continued to smother QB Jay Fiedler (20-for-41, 218 yards), who was intercepted twice. They held the Dolphins to 259 yards, just 78 on the ground. Miami got bad news on defense as LB Junior Seau (torn pectoral) is out for the season. Also, starting defensive tackles Tim Bowens and Larry Chester are on injured reserve, and without them the Jets managed 275 yards rushing -- the highest single-game total in the league this season! Arizona's (2-5 SU, 4-3 ATS) last road win came against Carolina during a Week 5 win during the 2002 season. Miami (1-3 SU/ATS at home) has a short week to dust themselves off after the whalloping by the Jets. This game should be very close. Its a battle between two QBs looking to distinguish themselves: Fiedler or McCown in this defensive duel.

5 Units Kansas City Chiefs -3 -107

A red hot offense against a lousy one. Kansas City (3-4 SU/ATS) is on a 3-1 SU/ATS run after an impressive 45-35 win over the Colts. The Chiefs are 15th against the run, 4.4 yards per carry and 19th in total defense. But this offense (3rd in the NFL) is awesome, averaging 29 points, 406 yds pg (238 yds passing, 167 yds rushing, 4.7 ypc per game). That rushing offense is No. 1 in the NFL. QB Trent Green, RB Priest Holmes and TE Tony Gonzalez will test the Tampa defense, although the Chiefs are 1-2 SU, ATS on the road getting outscored by a 27-22 average. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-5 SU, 2-4-1 ATS) have had two weeks to prepare after they shut down the Bears, 19-7. After an 0-4 start, Bucs have won 2 of 3. The defense (3rd in the NFL) allows 18 points, 117 yds rushing, 148 passing per game, but the offense is 23rd (27th rushing, 19th passing). They average 85 yards rushing, 3.5 ypc, 206 yards passing each game behind new QB Brian Griese (643 yards, 70% completions, 4 TDs, 1 INT). Tampa Bay is 5-2 UNDER the total this season and 15-8 UNDER the total since the start of last season. Tampa Bay is 3-1 ATS the last four meetings with KC, but the Chiefs are hot and have far more ability to put the ball in the end zone.

3 Units St Louis Rams -1.5 -110

The Patriots 21-game winning streak ended Sunday when they lost to the Steelers 34-20. Tom Brady threw a pair of touchdown passes to David Givens and finished with 271 yards on 25-of-43 passing for New England (6-1 SU, 4-2-1 ATS). Brady was intercepted twice and the Patriots committed four costly turnovers. Ty Law was out for a few plays with a foot injury, allowing QB Roethlisberger to pick on replacement CB Randall Gay. Patriots CB Ty Law (broken foot) is out 4-6 weeks and RB Corey Dillon (thigh) is questionable. In fact, New England is without either of its starting cornerbacks as CB Tyrone Poole (knee) is expected to be out. St. Louis will be well rested and a bit nasty for this one as they lost to the Dolphins 31-14, two weeks ago when Marc Bulger was 23-of-39 for 295 yards and a touchdown for the Rams (4-3), who were coming off a Monday night win over Tampa Bay. Marshall Faulk picked up 61 yards on 12 carries and 74 yards on eight receptions in the loss. Isaac Bruce added five catches for 98 yards. The last meeting for these two was Super Bowl XXXVI when the Pats won 20-17 as a +14 dog. Look for a photo finish here as both teams look to rebound from losses. The Rams are 2-1 SU, 1-2 ATS at home this season, the Pats on the road are 2-1 SU, ATS. The Rams are 3-1 SU/ATS the last four games and the home dog gets some payback and keeps the Pats losing streak intact.

I'm out the door and will be back after the Sunday night football game!!! Here is my selection:

3 Units Baltimore Ravens -6 -103

Have the TV networks scheduled the worst string of night games in NFL history? If the electoral college ends up being phased out, then find a better way of picking Sunday and Monday night games, too! Cleveland is 0-3 SU/ATS on the road where they are getting belted by a 27-15 average. At least the Browns have found some offense of late, scoring 34, 31, and 23 the last three. That's why Cleveland is on a 3-0 OVER the total run. Butch Davis has also had two weeks to prepare, but this is a division game and a revenge spot. Cleveland stacked the line to stop the run and trashed the Ravens, 20-3, in the opener. Baltimore (4-3 SU/5-2 ATS) has been playing well, allowing 14 points per game (5-2 UNDER the total). This is a key game as Pittburgh is beginning to run away with the division and both teams need to go on a run to have a shot at the Wild Card. Baltimore is off an impressive 15-10 loss to red-hot Philadelphia. The Ravens' offense -- which ranked next to last in the league entering the game -- was missing three huge pieces: RB Jamal Lewis, left tackle Jonathan Ogden, and TE Todd Heap, all Pro Bowlers. Yet Baltimore amassed 327 yards of total offense, its second-highest output of the season, and out-gained the Eagles (298 total yards), the league's fourth-ranked offense. QB Kyle Boller completed 24 of 38 passes (63.1 completion percentage) for a season-high 223 yards. Ravens' RB Lewis is back for this game, which will only help the improving Baltimore offense.

Good Luck Tonight,

DUDE...

Why bring your "FRAUD ASS" back to this great board? You are BUSTED for the FAKE that you are!!

I've already BURNED you for "Cutting and Pasting" on the College side Allstar...

You really shouldn't "Cut and Paste" the work of others without giving credit to the original authors...in this case you have stolen the work of the Pigskin Prophet and I do not think they would be too happy about it.

Why not just simply post all of the plays? Afterall, they are released on Tuesday afternoon on their website...Ohhhhhhhhh, I see....By posting them one by one you want people to think YOU are the author!!

SHAME ON YOU!!!!

Below are the plays as they appear on the Pigskin Prophet's website:

Football Picks for 11/02/2004 - 11/08/2004

Games for 11/07/2004

Two AFC East teams -- one battling for first place, the other going nowhere. New York is off a fired-up Monday night crowd, ripping the Dolphins 41-14 to get back into a tie for first place. The Jets are 2-1 SU, 2-0-1 ATS on the road, where they average just 19 ppg. That's why New York is 2-1 UNDER the total on the road. The Jets play a conservative, grind-it-out offense, while Buffalo has struggled to score much of the season,. so don't look for a shootout. The Jets Curtis Martin and LaMont Jordan each ran for 115 yards and a score againts Miami, and the 275 yards the Jets racked up on the ground are the most in the NFL this season. In their 38-14 win over Arizona on Sunday, the Bills' Willis McGahee rushed 30 times for 102 yards and QB Drew Bledsoe fired touchdown passes to Eric Moulds and Tim Euhus. Bledsoe ended just 8-of-17 for 81 yards while Rian Lindell booted a 25-yard field goal for Buffalo (2-5 SU, 4-3 ATS). The Bills have won two of three after a four-game slide to start the season. Despite being a defensive team, note that the Bills are 3-1 OVER the total at home.
Projected Score: NY Jets 20, BUF Bills 17

Injury Update: Eagles RB Brian Westbrook will be in the starting lineup, wearing special pads for a cracked rib injury. Offensive lineman Jermane Mayberry is active. Steelers tailback Duce Staley is inactive because of a hamstring strain. Jerome Bettis starts for Staley.
Eagles running back Brian Westbrook was inactive for the game with a cracked rib, but will play with a flak jacket this game. The Eagles run defense is suspect, allowing 4.9 yards per rush, 113 per game, and Pittsburgh has a deep ground game. The Steelers toppled Super Bowl Champs easilly last week and they're at home again as they continue the string of beating the unbeaten.

The Redskins (2-5 SU, ATS), who have lost five of their last six fell to the Packers 28-14. QB Mark Brunell threw for 218 yards on 25-of-44 passing including a pair of 12-yard touchdown tosses to Rod Gardner. Clinton Portis ran for 70 yards on 17 carries and caught seven passes for a mere 17 yards. The Skins trailed by 17-0 before making a mini comback behind three interceptions but it wasn't enough. The anemic Redskins offense is averaging 13 points per game on the road, where they are 3-0 UNDER the total. In fact, the Redskins haven't topped 19 points in any game this season! The Lions, meanwhile, had their road winning streak snapped at three when they lost to the Dallas Cowboys 31-21. QB Joey Harrington completed 19-of-32 attempts for 255 yards and a pair of touchdowns for the Lions (4-3 SU, ATS). Lions WR Roy Williams (sprained left ankle) worked out before the game but was put on the inactive list when it was obvious that he wasn't healthy enough to play. He's questionable this week. The Skins offensive futility is still in need of reconstructive surgery while the Lions offense is putting points on the board and has the symptoms of a potential breakout team. Oddly, Detroit is 1-2 SU/ATS at home where they are giving up 28 ppg.
Projected Score: DET Lions 24, WAS Redskins 14

<TABLE><TBODY><TR><TD align=right colSpan=2>Feist</TD><TD colSpan=2> </TD><TD colSpan=2> </TD></TR><TR><TD>DAL Cowboys</TD><TD align=right> 44</TD><TD colSpan=2> </TD><TD colSpan=2> </TD></TR><TR><TD>CIN Bengals</TD><TD align=right> 1</TD><TD colSpan=2> </TD><TD colSpan=2> </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
Here's what we know about the inconsistent Cowboys: The defense is weak (5 yards per rush allowed) and they are turnover prone (minus-7) with a strong passing offense (255 yards passing per game). All of which explains why Dallas is 5-2 OVER the total. They are averaging 20 ppg while giving up 25 ppg and they've gone OVER the total the last 3 games. QB Vinny Testaverde threw three interceptions last week, and they allowed Detroit's 50-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter that turned an easy win into a hard-fought victory, 31-21. The Dallas (3-4 SU/ATS) pass 'D' has been torched for 245 and 260 yards the last two weeks! Cincinnati (2-5 Su, 1-6 ATS) has been a big disappointment with an even worse defense, giving up 155 yards rushing (4.7 ypc) and 202 passing each game. The Bengals are 4-3 OVER the total and 1-5 SU/ATS as an underdog. They've surrendered over 160 yards rushing in 4 of 7 games! Dallas wins in a sloppy, high scoring battle.
Projected Score: DAL Cowboys 27, CIN Bengals 21

<TABLE><TBODY><TR><TD align=right colSpan=2>Feist</TD><TD colSpan=2> </TD><TD colSpan=2> </TD></TR><TR><TD>OAK Raiders</TD><TD align=right> 41</TD><TD colSpan=2> </TD><TD colSpan=2> </TD></TR><TR><TD>CAR Panthers</TD><TD align=right> 6</TD><TD colSpan=2> </TD><TD colSpan=2> </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
A couple of teams searching desperately for a win meet up this Sunday. The Raiders have dropped to the bottom of the barrel after Sunday's 42-14 loss to the division rival Chargers. They've lost five straight and are a welcome visitor whereever they go. Kerry Collins finished with 263 yards on 24-of-39 passing for the Raiders (2-6 SU/ATS). He tossed one touchdown but was intercepted twice. Oakland has a miserable minus-14 turnover margin! The Raiders were totally defenseless as Drew Brees directed touchdowns on six of the Chargers' first seven possessions. Fortunately for Oakland, they face a banged up, struggling offense. Carolina also lost their fifth straight Sunday 23-17 to the Seattle Seahawks. Jake Delhomme threw for 248 yards and two touchdowns on 19-of-36 passes for the Panthers (1-6 SU, 3-4 ATS). Muhsin Muhammad pulled in eight catches for 106 yards and two scores but Seattle ran for 237 yards against the Panthers 'kitten' defense. Neither teams has much to get excited about, and the Panthers give up 23 ppg, the Raiders 28 ppg. Carolina RB Stephen Davis (knee) did not play last week and is out for this game, too. Carolina is 0-3 SU/ATS at home, but gets off the skid here.
Projected Score: CAR Panthers 27, OAK Raiders 17

The Cardinals' dropped their third game in the last four when they were stampeded 38-14 by the Buffalo Bills. QB Josh McCown completed only 9-of-24 passes for 101 yards. He did throw a touchdown pass to Bryant Johnson. WR Anquan Boldin, who saw his first action of the season for Arizona after missing the first six games with torn cartilage in his right knee, caught four passes for 50 yards in the loss.
Projected Score: MIA Dolphins 16, ARI Cardinals 14

A red hot offense against a lousy one. Kansas City (3-4 SU/ATS) is on a 3-1 SU/ATS run after an impressive 45-35 win over the Colts. The Chiefs are 15th against the run, 4.4 yards per carry and 19th in total defense.
Projected Score: KC Chiefs 24, TAM Bucs 17

The Bears, who snapped a four game losing streak, come off a much needed win Sunday when they toppled the 49ers 23-13 behind rookie QB Craig Krenzel who passed for 168 yards and a touchdown in his first career NFL start. Krenzel, who took over for an ineffective Jonathan Quinn in the second half of last week's loss to Tampa Bay, completed 13 of his 25 passes. He connected with Bernard Berrian for a 49-yard touchdown on his first pass of the game, giving the Bears (2-5 SU, 3-4 ATS) an early 7-0 lead. RB Thomas Jones left the game in the first quarter with a foot injury. RB Anthony Thomas replaced him in the backfield and rushed for 98 yards on 25 carries. Despite the offensive output last week, notice that the Bears played three strong defensive teams before that (Eagles, Redskins, Bucs) and scored 9, 10 and 7 points! That and their good defense is why Chicago is 5-2 UNDER the total. The Giants (5-2 SU/ATS) conservative offense and opportunistic defense grabbed an early 20-0 lead and won 34-13 Sunday at Minnesota. RB Tiki Barber ran for 101 yards and two touchdowns and the Giants took advantage of three Minnesota turnovers. These teams haven't met since 2000 when the Giants held on 14-7 at Soldier Field. The NY Giants are 2-1 UNDER the total at home this season. Teams have gone in opposite directions this season as the Jints have played error free football and are getting turnovers. That trend looks to continue in the Meadowlands.
Projected Score: NY Giants 27, CHI Bears 14

<TABLE><TBODY><TR><TD align=right colSpan=2>Feist</TD><TD colSpan=2> </TD><TD colSpan=2> </TD></TR><TR><TD>SEA Seahawks</TD><TD align=right> 7</TD><TD colSpan=2> </TD><TD colSpan=2> </TD></TR><TR><TD>SF 49ers</TD><TD align=right> 40½</TD><TD colSpan=2> </TD><TD colSpan=2> </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
The Seahawks righted their ship and grabbed a needed 23-17 win over the Panthers Sunday. Shaun Alexander scored two touchdowns and ran for 195 yards on 32 carries at Qwest Field. QB Matt Hasselbeck completed 21-of-30 passes for 201 yards and a touchdown for the Seahawks (4-3 SU, 3-4 ATS), who took an early 14-0 lead and snapped a three-game losing steak. WR Darrell Jackson caught six passes for 71 yards and Josh Brown kicked three field goals. This game was over early, as Hasselbeck completed 14 of his initial 16 passes for 144 yards and Alexander had 119 rushing yards on 17 carries at halftime. Seattle is 0-2 SU/ATS their last two road games and they've gone 4 straight games OVER the total because of a defense that has given up 33, 30, 25 and 17 points the last 4 games! The 49ers lost to Chicago 23-13 on Sunday night. QB Ken Dorsey, starting in place of the injured Tim Rattay (right forearm), was 16-of-36 for 122 yards in the loss and is questionable for Sunday , Dwaine Carpenter scored on an 80-yard fumble return and Todd Peterson kicked two field goals for the 49ers (1-6). The Seahawks won both games a year ago SU and split ATS. The Seahawks had all their oars in the water against the Panthers and played well Sunday, and the Niners will have a tough time keeping up with them offensively.
Projected Score: SEA Seahawks 28, SF 49ers 17

Projected Score: SDG Chargers 35, NO Saints 20

Projected Score: STL Rams 23, NEW Patriots 20

Denver has been sloppy, losing two in a row and won't be in a friendly mood. Houston (4-3 SU/ATS) has won two in row with defense, beating the Titans 20-10 and Jacksonville 20-6. The offense is one-dimensional, as they average just 3.3 yards per rush, but QB David Carr leads a passing attack getting 261 yards in the air each game. Houston is 2-1 SU/ATS on the road, while Denver is 3-1 Su at home, though 1-2-1 ATS. The Broncos (5-3) went from an efficient first-quarter team up 14-3 to a bumbling, mistake-filled unit in the final three quarters in a loss to the Michael Vick-led Atlanta Falcons, 41-28. Playing on a short week before a quick-to-boo crowd, the Broncos displayed a split personality. Turnovers, penalties and missed opportunities sunk Denver. "We are killing ourselves," tailback Reuben Droughns said. "Everything good we did, we ruined it by a mistake, turnover or penalty. We've got to fix it quick." Denver has lost two in a row despite being a 7-point favorite each game (a 23-10 loss at Cincy). The Broncos suddenly have suffered breakdowns on both sides of the ball. Offensively, Denver set a team record with 567 total yards. QB Jake Plummer, who was throwing on nearly every play after Atlanta scored 31 unanswered points, also set a team record with 499 yards passing. notice that the Texans are allowing a whopping 4.7 yards per rush, which is what Denver likes to do. Should be a lot of points as Denver gets its balanced offense back on track this game.
Projected Score: DEN Broncos 30, HOU Texans 17

Projected Score: BAL Ravens 26, CLE Browns 13

Two teams coming off unexpected losses head to the RCA Dome Sunday. Has the second half swoon begun again? The Vikings fumbled early and the Giants grabbed a halftime lead of 20-0 before coasting to a 34-13 victory on Sunday. Daunte Culpepper threw for 231 yards on 24-of-42 passing along with a touchdown for Minnesota (5-2), which played the second half without star wide receiver Randy Moss and they saw a four-game win streak come to an end. However, the Pro Bowl quarterback also threw two interceptions in New York territory and was charged with a fumble which led to New York's first points. RB Mewelde Moore sprained an ankle against the Giants and is questionable for the Colts. The Colts were unable to make any key defensive stops Sunday as the K.C. Chiefs held on for a 45-35 win. The Chiefs finished with 387 passing yards and 203 on the ground for a total of 590, as the balanced attack helped keep Indianapolis quarterback Peyton Manning off the field. Manning threw for a career-high 472 yards and five touchdowns on 25-of-44 passing, but his last-ditch comeback attempt ended with an interception in the end zone in the closing minutes. Edgerrin James, who ran for 125 yards and two scores in last year's playoff game, was a non-factor on the ground with just 34 yards on 10 carries for the Colts (4-3 SU, 5-2 ATS). Teams haven't played since a Colts 31-10 home win in 2000. The Colts allowed Trent Green yards upon yards last week and their defense needs a serious wake-up call. The Vikings turned the ball over to the Giants and then couldn't run or stop the conservative NY offense. Expect big points on the scoreboard for this one. The Colts are 5-2 OVER the total on the season while the Vikings are 4-3 OVER. Don't look for any defense and, with Moss out, the home team gets the win.
Projected Score: IND Colts 42, MIN Vikings 28

I believe he does work for them. All these people putting up posts, smashing on him when they don't even know him. Heck, one of these posters has 4 posts total. Seems like they are the fraud. You think Allstar would have 2000 posts on here and not been called out for this yet?? I don't think so. People on here just like to fight all the time. Ridiculous.
