I love the British Open. I enjoy the time differential that allows me to watch live golf in the middle of the night. I like the links courses, the frequently unpredictable weather, and the atmosphere at this wonderful event.

This year, I also like one of the favorites to keep his red hot roll intact. Dustin Johnson is playing some amazing golf right now. It’s no secret that DJ is as talented as anyone in the world. That’s been the case for some time now. But that one nagging problem of not being able to finish in the big events was always there, and it was almost a case of waiting to see what would go wrong on Sundays.

Johnson’s win at the US Open changed that, and he followed that great win up with another victory two weeks ago at Firestone.

There’s no one playing as well as Johnson right now, and I believe he’s got a very legit chance to knock down another win this week at Royal Troon. I can’t make a case there’s any real value here with the odds being what they are. But I will play Dustin Johnson to win, and even at a less than spectacular price, I’ll be thrilled to cash that ticket if he gets there.

Tim Lincecum (1-2, 7.50 ERA) takes the ball for the Halos. He's surrendered 29 hits and nine walks in his first 18 innings cover four starts with the Angels. His last outing was the worst of the bunch when he was tagged with five runs on 10 hits in 4 2/3 innings at Tampa Bay.

The Orioles turn to Chris Tillman (11-2, 3.55 ERA) who held the Dodgers to one run on five hits in seven innings of a 4-1 win his last time out. Tillman is 7-0 with a 3.45 ERA in 11 home starts this year and 2-0 with a 2.45 ERA in four career starts against the Angels.

Los Angeles will be without C.J. Cron who also missed Saturday's 3-2 defeat. Cron suffered a broken hand on Friday night when hit by a Mike Wright pitch.
