Pete Carroll and Tressell hasn't been to the BCS title game that many times. I only remember Carroll going twice and Tressel three times.

I misread your post than. I thought you said to the BCS.

As for the Florida State game against OU. They should have played Miami. Miami lost by 3 at #4 UW.

That Miami team had a ton of talent and a real coach, doesn't mean OU wouldn't have won.

You are incorrect. Miami beat Nebraska in CA. FSU beat VA Tech in NOLA. UF beat FSU in NOLA. UF beat OSU in Glendale.

For those of you that don't know, Bud Wilkerson and Barry Switzer are no longer coaching the team.

So, based on your reasoning of their past, ND should roll in their bowl game. I mean look at the program's history.

Don't allow facts to get in the way of a good argument.

That was from an old memory. After exhaustive study, How about the 3 Florida teams have won 1 championship west of the Miss. and north of I-10. LSU's last 2 championships were both won in New Orleans. I try not to muddle the issue with facts. I remember this same argument in 2000, how Fla. St would demolish the sooners. We will see.

GS, What I'm trying to tell you, and you fail to listen, IS THAT THOSE SCORES YOU POSTED WERE WITHOUT OUR STARTING QB IN THE GAME FOR THE WHOLE 4th QUARTER!!!! Vince didn't step on the field in the 4th quarter of that Big 12 Championship. And he wasn't on the field for much of those other games either. Your coach not only had the starter in the game, BUT HAD HIM THROWING BOMBS WITH 3 minutes remaining. Look at the stats, and you'll see that you're wrong on this point. Jesus Christ!!!

Quit looking at one side of the argument through burnt orange glasses for a minute and check the facts before you come off looking like a whiny-assed fool . . . . . if you go back and see how much playing time Bradford had on the field, you would have known that he did NOT play in over 8 quarters this season. That's the equivalent of 2 Games worth of time he did not play!

Why is it so hard for you Texas fans to accept the fact that Oklahoma's offense is the best in the nation and scoring comes easy to them? You guys beat them fair and square in Dallas. It was a great game played by the Longhorns. Texas played almost flawless on both sides of the ball and executed great. But, rules are rules and every team knew the rules of a 3 team tie in the Big 12. Cry all you want about "head to head" but you guys got beat by Tech and that made it a 3 way tie. Oklahoma won by the rules and the BCS proved Oklahoma to be the worthy team to play in the Big 12 Championship and the National Championship. Get over it already. If you want to go lay all your money on Florida because you hate Oklahoma then so be it. That's your prerogative . . .

jb...You know fool well that if Mack Brown had a chance to do something that has never been done in college football before with his team scoring 60 points or more for 5 games in row, he would have kept his QB in the game to the last second. Mack Daddy is not above the fray. Stop acting like he is. College football is all about wins, the BCS, breaking records and recruiting. I guarantee you alot of highschool players liked what they saw last night and will be giving OU a call. This is what football is all about whether you like it or not.

Hell yeah he would, . . . . I remember the year he won the National Championship, I've never seen a head coach suck off his QB more than Mack did that season. Hell, Mack was even dancing to rap music during practice because that was Vince's favorite music . . . . .

What's wrong with expecting some of these teams to stop OU instead of blaming it entirely on them for running up the score? You know the system very well and I'm sure Mack Brown does as well. If Texas had scheduled better competion earlier we wouldn't be having this conversation. I do realize there was no way to know how TCU & Cincy would do so well. As far as Sam Bradford is concerned, you know there are all kinds of scouts at these games and they want to see the product they may be purchasing. It 's just hard to know what to do sometime when you are talking about so much money and a young mans future on the line not to mention school records and national awards. I have a lot of respect for Texas and their program but i gotta tell ya all of this whining by everyone is getting old.

Damn straight here. Billy Tubbs used to say, "If the other team doesn't want to get beat by 50 points, they need to get better!"

Young didn't play in the 4th quarter of the Big 12 Championship game with Colorado game because the damage had already been done. Texas was already up 70-3 after 3 quarters. Texas also didn't have anybody to chase that season. They were pretty much number 1 or 2 in every poll all year...OU was in a much different situation. And even at that, Bradford has gone out in the 4th quarter in alot of games this year. And he didn't play in the 4th quarter of the Texas A&M game, yet I see some Texas fans getting on the board saying that Texas 40 point win over the Aggies as opposed to OU's 38 point win is proof that Texas is better. This is how shallow many people are, including the media. And including the voters in the Harris poll. This is what Stoops and OU has had to deal with this season.. As for Mack Brown, if he didn't want to keep his QB in their games, that was his choice. But he needs to learn to play the BCS game. When Brown tells the media he is no longer scheduling marquee games for the Horns for their out of conference games, it tells me he's not taking the BCS as serious as he should. Something tells me that Mack is on his way out anyway. There's some pretty strong rumors floating around that Muschamp is going to be head coach much sooner than people think.

You just made WAY too much sense for Texas fans to understand in this post . . . . . . .

the problem i have is RUTSing is the ONLY way now. and now we will see teams doing it repeatedly from now on and that really ruins the game when you cant get your backups in as they sit on the bench because Urban or Bob must win by 50 instead of 43.

that's the classy thing I like about Mack. he got the backups in. See the TAMU game as an example when he didnt have Colt passing in the game when it was in had. Backups were in.

it's not WRONG mind you. you play the game and that's how it has to be played now. and to me it ruins college football.

yet another reason why we need playoffs

not sure who i root for in the MNC game. dont like the sooners but i dont like FU any more than I do Okie. if it were USC id be the biggest Sooner rooter though :)

sdf, you're one of the few I respect on this forum, but I fail to see your point here. Personally, I'd rather watch the 1st stringers play the whole game like we do in the NFL. That may be a personal preference, but I don't like watching the game whenever the scrubs get thrown in for mop up duty. Call me crazy.

I understand the need for scrubs to get some game experience, but I don't have to like it. How does it ruin the game to have to see the 1st stringers playing in the 4th quarter of games whether they are way up or not?

How did Billy Tubbs and running the score up do at TCU?

How did running up the score work out the first Monday in April 1988?
