Im at my girlfriends house...her sbc yahoo web browser will work but

wont go to secure sights. The Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox wont

work at all. The message from the test says "Windows cannot connect to

the internet using HTTP, HTTPS, or FTP, this is probably caused by

firewall settings" "check firewall settings for the HTTP port 80, HTTPS port

443, and FTP port 21"

I have tried everything i know....spent a half hour on the phone with

a tech support guy and it still wont work.....anybody know whats wrong?

give this a shot, it might help out:

click Start,
click Run
then type in cmd and hit enter, (it should take you to a command line C:>)

at the C:> type netsh winsock reset

hit enter
then type exit to make the command prompt go away, then launch your browser and see what happens.

try checking this then:
Open Internet Explorer
click Tools
click Internet Options
click Connection
try using either the "Setup" option in there or
click LAN Settings and check "Automatically Detect Settings"

click OK out of it, close all browsers and try it again
