Smith has obviously turned a corner in his recovery. The Panthers begin their preparation for the season opener on Sunday, so Smith should be an integral part of the game plan. He's safe to draft as a WR1 this weekend. Smith ranks No. 33 overall in Evan Silva's Top-150.

Per the Charlotte Observer, Smith was "wearing a brace on his right knee in the locker room," but it's being deemed a precaution after he "took a shot" in Carolina's Week 1 loss to the Bucs. It's a concern, but would be a much bigger one had Smith not been able to get in a limited session. He'll suit up against the Saints, and remains locked in as a WR1.

Smith was officially limited on Thursday. Rivera's optimism on Jonathan Stewart is slight cause for pause, as was the brace Smith was sporting on Wednesday. We still have Smith ranked as a top-10 fantasy receiver in a potential scoring frenzy, but owners should check Friday afternoon to ensure that he remains on track to play.

Rivera's lack of equivocation is music to the ears of fantasy owners. Expect Smith to ramp up his practice reps on Friday in preparation for the intra-division showdown with the Saints. As long as Smith plays, he's a WR1 option in what should be a high-scoring game.

Head coach Ron Rivera expected Smith to play "without a doubt" after being limited in practice this week. Smith is a WR1 on Sunday against a New Orleans defense that could be without two of their top three cornerbacks, Jabari Greer (questionable, groin) and Johnny Patrick (out, thigh). Smith caught seven passes for 106 yards in Week 1 against the Bucs while dealing with the lingering knee issue.
