only to find out they have a 300 million surplus due to Bush tax cuts.

It should be a requirement that democrats show degree in economics 101 before taking office....take one of those matchbook courses.

...and here I thought the punchline to this joke was going to be:

"...foreign aid, I almost forgot about that money! We'll just give Israel 1.5 billion dollars less this time!" (or any other foreign country for that matter that we coddle)

Realistic fantasy.

Maybe our politicians need to go get a degree in "taking care of your own country first".

Thanks but I asked for a cite, which means a direct citation...a weblink or anything else...nm, I can pull up Fox News.

Oh, as for the FL budget surplus, it's not making noticeable difference to me, since I'm self employed in a state with no income tax and my children are not in school here.

Meanwhile, JEB! has spent more on building new prisons during the past six years than new schoolrooms. Prison guard salaries have increased faster than teachers.

And he's the primary obstacle to the legislature following the latest amendment to our state constitution (2002) which manadated the state construct a high speed rail system to help reduce automobile traffic and pollution.

In short, he ignores the law and gives more funds to caging teens than he does educating them.

Fortunately, his term, like his brother's will expire fairly soon.

Your state relys heavily on tourism from the north, combined with the influx of criminal aliens that the dems rely on for votes you MUST have plenty of prisons to keep the shit off the street. So you can to continue to benfit from the northern tourist....Who the fxck wants to visit Beruit?

Seeing as I live abroad and it doesn't effect me, to be honest I haven't informed myself on the bush tax cuts. However an extended family member through marriage of mine, a Texan born and raised die hard repub and bush family supporter up until now, has told me that there's no way in hell he'll vote for bush again partially because of Iraq but primarily because despite the smoke screens the tax cuts did turn out to help only the wealthiest. I don't know if he would meet patriot's economics knowledge requirements but he does have a B.A. of Business Administration from the U. of Texas (was that the school that wouldn't accept bush2?).

Last two presidents to submit a balanced budget
are Clinton and JFK. Biggest deficits=Bush and his GOP(Grand Old Petroleum).

Have no idea what the Beruit reference implies with regard to Florida. Please elaborate.

75% of those incarcerated within Florida are serving time for non-violent offenses, so they are nothing for tourists to worry about.

Meanwhile, our public schools rank consistently in the mid to high 40s when compared to the rest of the nation.

JEB! believes that putting people in cages is more important than educating children.

Obviously many people agree with him, since he was reelected for a second term. But there are many of us who believe if I child is sufficiently educated, they will be less likely to need a jail cell later in life.

This fall will be our first chance to make inroads on the Legislature and 2006-8 will help us complete the turnaround returning FLorida to the Democrats who ran the state just fine for 122 of the past 128 years.

It's time for Floridians to be paying a state income tax as well, while also telling corporations that want to move here, "You don't get any special tax breaks for relocating here. If the climate and location ain't enough, go build in Georgia."

My family in particular my father voted for Bush in order to cash in on the tax cut. Well, he got it and now regrets it. The problem is that he realized that his social security pension has been slightly diminished by a percentage.

Something to think about. I am a Republican but will not vote this election.

I guess I'm one of the very few that aren't in the top 10% of wage earners that still enjoy an increase in dispensible funds because of the tax cuts I received.

Hmm, no wonder why he didn't want to post a source. It wasn't just democrats that voted for this:

GOP-Led Virginia House Approves Tax Increase

RICHMOND, Va. -- Virginia's House of Delegates voted Tuesday to raise taxes by almost $750 million over two years, joining Gov. Mark R. Warner and the state Senate in calling for more investment in schools, colleges, police and health care, The Washington Post reported.

A coalition of maverick Republicans and House Democrats cast aside the chamber's opposition to higher taxes and approved a bill that would raise the state's sales tax by a half-penny, to 5 cents per dollar; increase the cigarette tax to 30 cents a pack; close corporate loopholes; increase fees; reduce the food tax; end the estate tax; and lower income taxes.

The bill passed the 100-member House by a vote of 52 to 46, after a last-minute change that lowered the amount of money it would raise by almost $230 million.

Both chambers of the Republican-controlled General Assembly now have passed broad tax plans that would affect almost every Virginian, a prospect that many politicians considered highly unlikely last fall when Warner, a Democrat, began the tax debate with a proposal of his own.

Ah, yes. The self-fulfilling prophecy better known in Bush-speak as "those damn niggas tryin' to vote."

Keep them down and then blame them sweepingly for their woes. Charmers, eh?

Oh no my friend. The best thing you could do for your party is vote for someone who more represents original/real conservatism. Give a write-in for Buchanan or McCain. Just participate.
