Pancho is right. I look at it this way:

Four independent events each with a 50% prob of success or failure. So, you calculate the overall probability of all events failing or succeeding by multiplying all the probabilities:
.50x.50x.50x.50= 6.25% or 1/16.

Keep in mind the following Theorem:

Removing a negative EV play completely from a combination of bets, no matter how fancy or convoluted, will improve the overall EV of the combination.

And a corollary:

Any combination of negative EV plays, no matter how fancy and convoluted, is always a negative EV play.

EV = Expected Value
