Scouting Report:
White Sox: Danks finally broke out of a recent mini-slump with one of his best outings of the season, allowing one run in eight innings against the Mariners. He was efficient, throwing only 98 pitches, and struck out eight batters in the process. The start was especially important because Chicago starters had struggled the last time through the rotation. Danks is 4-0 lifetime against Oakland with a 1.38 ERA.Athletics: Cahill achieved his longest outing since going seven innings on July 22, but it wasn't enough to keep him from suffering his 12th loss of the season. The rookie allowed three earned runs on eight hits, but issued no walks in his team's 3-2 loss to the Orioles.

Scouting Report:
Dodgers: Randy Wolf allowed a third-inning run after a leadoff walk, but otherwise shut down the Giants for eight strong innings and his eighth quality start in his last nine outings. The Dodgers have scored 32 runs in Wolf's last three wins and he now leads the staff in innings pitched. Wolf is 7-3 lifetime against the Diamondbacks, 1-0 this year.Diamondbacks: Petit could not follow his two exceptional starts with a third, as the red-hot Nationals pounced on him for nine hits and four runs -- three earned -- in four innings. Petit was lifted from the game for a pinch-hitter in the top of the fifth, ending his afternoon at 83 pitches. "I struggled with command," Petit said. "I was leaving the ball up at the plate and they hit it. My command on both sides was not working good.

Scouting Report:
Yankees: The Yankees eased off their rest plan by putting Chamberlain back in the rotation for Sunday's start against the Mariners at Safeco Field. He took a no-decision on Tuesday against the Blue Jays, allowing four runs on five hits in six innings. The right-hander is unbeaten in his past nine starts, having gone 5-0 with a 3.78 ERA over that span, while the Yankees have gone 8-1 in his efforts. Chamberlain faced Seattle on June 30 in New York, allowing three runs over 5 1/3 innings in a no-decision as the Yankees won, 8-5.Mariners: The rookie gave himself a tough act to follow in his maiden voyage in the big leagues as a starter. He held the White Sox to one hit over six scoreless innings in his debut start on Tuesday night. His control wasn't as good as advertised -- he walked four and hit a batter. His fastball topped out at 90 mph, but he had good movement on his pitches and changed speeds well.
