Yes, a lot of movement.

SportSavant stringing together several great days to come out from the cellar to be on the plus side. That tells anyone "if SportSavant can do it, then anyone can do it"!

Sherwood breaking the single-day record of most points in a day, nabbing 419 points yesterday.

As a group, we also hit the single-day record of total points, 2030, yesterday.

Now, we are up +8282 points since May 1st (Baseball "Dow" market).

I still have some more stats I can post... especially wondering which team has been mentioned the most altogether.

(I finally am submitting this post a hour later... I was interrupted at work... heck, it should be the other way around... RX interrupting my work, LOL.)

Journey...just noticed this while reading the rules:

In an earlier thread about the Cubs/Pirates game that got suspended, we went by the BetJam rules rather than the MLB rules...was that a correct ruling?

are we going by Bet Jam or MLB rules regarding suspended games? If it is BetJm, you might want to change the rules to reflect that.

First of all I did not write the rules....secondly, that game that was called caught everyone by surprise, happens once a blue moon...and we decided to score the game as any reputable sportsbook would grade the game.

The rules are written for every possible scenario, occasionally something slips by, it was scored fairly and by the rules of almost all sportsbooks.

I wrote the rule, so I guess I should address what happened and what I think. In the rules it probably should have been written that "games will be graded the same way listed games are graded at betjam", but unfortunately that is not what was written... when the Cubs anomaly happened, Jman and I talked about it and decided that the most logical thing to do was to grade it the way the book graded it, which was a loss for Chicago......

Now that Shotgun has drawn my attention to the actual rule I wrote in the contest, I realize that my and Jmans interpretation may have been incorrect.

Here is how the rule was written:

-All ML picks must be considered final by Major League Baseball standards.
-Games must be completed on posted day or it will not count and be graded no action.

According to the rules above it would seem to me the game should have been graded NO ACTION, as I had not written that the games would be graded the same as betjam but rather had come up with this other method.

I guess we basically have 2 options, change the rule to reflect how it was graded, that is to say that games are graded the same way as betjam.

OR

correct the grading error, and stay with the rules that were initially written for the contest.


(I think we should correct the grading error and stick with the rule as it was that day, I think Shotgun is right, and I didnt read the rules closely enough when this happened)

I don't care either way; I agreed with the decision to use BetJam rules before I played lawyer and parsed the rules. But it's going to pop up again sometime this year so we should make sure the rule is clarified.
