ROCKIES RL
This will be Jacob Nix's first ever game pitching at COORS FIELD which can be confusing and frustrating for a pitcher who isn't used to the altitude and air density in the MILE HIGH city. Padres won last night which means we should have an extra focused ROCKIES team tonight who have gone 33-17 in their last 50 games.
Jon Gray is on the mound for the Rockies and has a 4.76 ERA this season but I think he's been much better than that number indicates. His xFIP is 3.08 and SIERA is 3.32 which indicates that he's been unlucky. Padres strikeout more than any team in the league and GRAY has a 10.52 K/9 which means this should be a good matchup for GRAY. GRAY is currently in good form after two solid starts back to back and if you do DFS you should definitely include him on your pitching staff as his chances of getting a W and raking up K's can get you a lot of points.
So to summarize. This is NIX's first ever start at COORS which is intimidating to say the least. Our wager is on the RL so we are counting on NIX to get beat up upon but let's say that doesn't happen? The Padres offense is one of the worst in MLB and their lack of sustainable offense could make it to where we win this wager anyway even if NIX pitches well. NIX was lit up in his last game and pitched great in his debut so we will very likely see something in the middle of both of these starts.
