Atletico de Madrid vs. Athletic Bilbao

I the last 10 matches between these two teams we have seen 7 matches go over 2.5 goals. The home side has a date with Chelsea on Friday in the Super Cup. We all saw what that did to Madrid and Barca on the weekend when they were caught looking ahead.

Athletico de Madrid really count on winning their home matches. This is an important match since it is a replay of the Europa League Final last year and Bilbao will be doing their best to win. However, Athletic Bilbao is in sad shape losing at home to Betis 3-5. Missing are Martinez, Llorente and Xavi and that is certainly not the same Bilbao.

Both teams are lacking in defense but Atletico Madrid will know how to capitalize on Bilbao’s disadvantages. Atletico earned a tough point away at Levante last match and controlled the majority of the possession.

Scoring 3 goals on their own, is not unrealistic either.

with all the missing bilbao players i was tempted on the a madrid -1 ... my 4 issues with A Madrid are they tend to put up stinkers for no reason, they play in the Super Cup on Friday, they rarely beat bilbao by 2+ goals and the classic revenge factor. I guess a sell off at bilbao will be deflating and we might see it here. They still have goal scorers and like you said questionable a Madrid defense. 2-1 for me looks about right. GL on the over .. my morning/afternoon is pretty swamped so no plays for me but i take the over with you.

Dial we spoke about the look ahead to the cup matches before in your thread and that's why I hesitate to take AM -1. They can beat AB by 3 no problem but I think they will let a goal in or two.

Only problem is that I refuse to play unders in Football and Basketball.

I played your Philly Over without hesitation. I'm just not comfortable playing an under in those sports.
