YTD 13-12
Atlanta 31 St. Louis 3
That's right. I'm goin' out on a limb here, and saying the Falcons pound 'em. First of all, Bulger was under mad pressure from an average Seattle front. How will they deal with Atlanta's front seven, who lead the league in sacks? And I think this DeAngelo Hall's coming out party. He is raw still, but has shown much better discipline of late. I think he can contain Isaac Bruce, allowing them to double Torry Holt. If the Rams wanted to run, they probably could. But will they? Probably not, particularly if they get down early.
Atlanta's run game has been solid all year, and that is what will win them this game. The St. Louis linebackers can't spy on Vick, cover Crumpler, and stop the run all at the same time. I don't expect to see much out of Vick through the air, mostly because the Falcons should be able to run down the Rams' throats. Atlanta's new cut-blocking scheme will pay dividends, as middle linebacker Robert Thomas is continually neutralized on the second level. Look for big numbers rushing from Vick and Co.
The fact that Martz is an idiot weighs big too, and the fact that Atlanta's special teams are far superior makes it better yet. I could be wrong, but Atlanta should get through this one easily, without putiting pressure on Vick's arm for at least one more week.
