N Carolina has been feasting on a weak conference schedule. While Clemson has benefited from that same conference schedule, they have beaten ND and FSU. Just my opinion but I think this one won't be close. Plus, does the ACC really want Clemson to lose? Do you realize how much money it will cost the conference if they don't make the playoff?

Does the ACC want Clemson to lose? Yes, I think so. The Commissioner of the ACC certainly does. Some things are more important than money, and screwing Clemson is one of those things for the Carolina cabal. Besides, if UNC wins, the Tarheels will probably make the playoff and bring in the same money, so it's a win-win-win for Swofford.

ACC stands for two things: All-Carolina Conference and Anti-Clemson Conference. Don't be surprised if the Goats get the calls in this one.

I will give you one good reason, Even though I think Clemson is overrated, NC lost to SC
This is comical. Guess Oklahoma should lose it's next game too and aren't very good because they lost to Texas. Okla is the best team IMO.

This is comical too, but wouldn't expect anything less from a Clemson fan. Already have the excuses ready...never fails.

No fan base is any worse than any other. Everyone makes excuses. Gamecocks, Tigers, Tide, Buckeyes. As a matter of fact, SEC as a conference may be the best. For example, Bama never loses. Either they didn't want to be at a bowl, or the players were worried about the nfl, or the teams beat each other up, or they only loat because of the turnovers, etc. As far as the dude's point about North Carolina and Swofford, he is dead on. The Carolina elite have always looked down their noses at Clemson starting back in the Danny Ford days when Clemson got "extra punishment" from the holier than thou group for minor infractions. Look at the widespread Unc athletic department corruption that is WAY WORSE and there has been zero reaction from Commisioner Swofford! Sorry for the tangent Memphis!

UNC seems to be hitting their stride while Clemson looks to be coming down a little from when they peaked. The game opened with the dreaded 5.5 spread which doesn't bode well for Clemson. UNC wins IMO.

i agree there MLB. the momentum is on the side of NC and not unlike other undefeated team streaks broken Clemson is sputtering if theres such a thing even though theyre still winning.. and if you can see beyond the trees.. that 5.5 is a death sentence !

already snatched 5.5 now down as low as 4.5. does it go lower? right now looking over the entire slate NC is the most underrated team on the board. WOW. field goal game?

Clemson's defense is rated No. 1 nationally.....North Carolina's is ranked 120th.

In other words, Clemson's defense is 238 yards per game better than the Tar Heels.

Throw in the Tiger's two stellar defensive ends who have led the D for 43 sacks, compared
to NC's 22.

Make your own judgements about which QB and offense is better................

First Memphis, let me apologize for posting misinformation. It was given to me by my nephew and I did not follow up with a confirmation.
Maybe that's one reason I have struggled during this college football season.

Clemson is rated 7th in total defense compared to North Carolina being rated 65th. Clemson allowed 3462 yards on the season with the Tar Heels giving up 4739.

Big advantage for Clemson as I stated earlier. I'm betting on Clemson, but didn't want to sway anyone with my earlier false post.

Sorry Bud............

North Carolina scores right out of the gate, usually. If Clemson can keep it close early, they win here. I like the over myself.

that number is sneaky :think2:

Go a "little easy" Memphy......That's a lot of money you're talking about. This will be a matter of the "last team standing". Most college football teams are beat-up and tired after playing 12 or 13 games.....not much "piss & vinegar" left.

The two QB's are mirror images of each other, and the O's probably the same. Edge to Clemson on D, but wouldn't put a lot into that. Although the game is here in Charlotte, as the ShotDoc who I'm sure will be at the game will tell ya, we're only a driver and one iron from the South Carolina border. Personally, I like the over and the fact I'm back in Charlotte. Russ and GS, there's a damn good reason I left Oklahoma, LOL. Jeeezus. Western OK and the TX panhandle sucked the past week. Pilot of my bird asks me how we're gonna de-ice at this airstrip just outside Wheeler, TX, and I look at him and laugh..... the SUN my friend, the SUN.

I agree with this to an extent. I personally think Marquise is ready to "outshine" Watson in this situation. Williams won't be coming back next year, and Watson will, so here's his chance to "outshine" what may be the #1 pick in next years draft (waste IMO). Yes, I said Watson was the best QB in the Nation before the year started, but to my surprise, he fumbles and throws more picks than he should, and that's okay, but he gets rattled now when things aren't completely going the team's way, and is one big play away from the other team in being doomed for good.

The Clemson D can be exposed with slants and over the middle play. If they run the right O all night and execute, they could blow this game wide open, and I wouldn't be surprised at all. Granted, Clemson could do the same thing, but I'm rolling with UNC here. It's Williams and Co.'s night to "outshine" the wrong team in the spotlight...

I agree MM, thought Deshaun would be heads and shoulders above any QB in college this season. Didn't happen. Williams will NOT go number one though, LOL, not sure that's what you were inferring. To be frank, I'm not sure I see him going before second round. There's a ton of line needs in the NFL right now, and some secondary as well. Yeah, lot of banged up QB's, but nothing that serious unless you're the Cleveland Browns, LOL, and have nothing to be banged up. GL my friend.

I think UNC shocks the world. An underdog who will have zero expectations to win and can score a lot of points is a scary thing. And I'm a big Clemson fan too. Just my $0.02.

I'd hardly consider a 1 loss 5 point dog that wins "shocking the world".

UNC played a soft schedule, even softer than Clemson's. We'll see how Williams does on a much bigger stage than he's used to, against a pretty solid team. No doubt UNC will put up some points though, and if Clemson plays a sloppy game (like they did last week), they likely won't get out alive.

That being said, UNC seems to be a VERY popular play this week. I am staying away ATS on this. I have a future on Clemson to win it all, so just going to root for them to win and get in the playoff.
