I know, Famous last words but the Pac 10 had great matchups in the first round. All of them.

Here is the deal. Ucla is not good. They don't have the players for a great defense and offensively they don't have one player on the team at SF, PF or Center that can score in the paint.

No PF or C??? This is actually Bens best job of coaching but the end of the road is tomorrow. DC is still hurt. Aboya, our only big man, broke his finger in the 2nd half.

if Ucla beats Vill then Nova is not a good team. Nova, at home, should beat Ucla by 12 or more. People think Ucla is good because they are Ucla. They are not that good.

My only thing is I have not watched much of Nova this year.

What is wrong with Collison? I did hear that Aboya broke his finger that sucks, hes about the only paint options they have. This is one of the worst UCLA teams in a while. Not your typical team, they are jump shooters who don't play as good of defense as they have in previous years.

Villanova is one of those most schizophrenic teams in the ncaa. They define gambling. Gl with them.

I don't have any money on the game... yet, but seeing the countless "Nova -2 is too easy!" and "Nova -2 is an early Christmas gift!" posts on multiple forums makes me want to bet UCLA. I sure as hell wouldn't bet Nova after seeing how much the public loves Nova today. And people seem to forget that the posters on these forums ARE the public (I'm including myself in that category too).

Peter, I don't believe that we would be considered the public
here. Some of us may be....but also the public can win. They did
well yesterday on several games including Mizzou, Sienna, and Arizona. The scarier thing for this instance is line movement.
Yes, Nova has a home field advantage, but obviously the odds makers see UCLA as the better team. I believe the -2 is for home advantage. The question lies is that is UCLA better? Player for player? Team chemistry. Post vs perimeter shooting, etc, etc.

I didn't mean for that to be a putdown or sound harsh. I just meant that I think most people on here are casual bettors. There may be some people on here who do this for a living, but I doubt there are too many. And you're right, the public can and does win. I'm living proof of that! :):)

Personally, I take the UCLA-bashing with a grain of salt. It doesn't surprise me because the Pac-10 never gets any respect. I've watched them play all year long and for people to say they aren't a good team is pretty funny to me. I admit that they cooled off a bit down the stretch (only going 7-4 to end the season), but they were one of the better teams in the country for the 1st half of the season. I'm probably in the minority, but I think they're a more complete team than Nova. I guess we'll see soon.

I'm on UCLA +3 because I'm tired of getting burnt by favorites, haha. I'm on all live dogs today and going small on the Bruins. I've watched a good amount of Nova games this season and you literally can flip a coin on which team will show up. I'll take big dance experience all day.

GL guys.

Nearly losing to VCU is more impressive than nearly losing at home to American..

You're right. LVSC has UCLA ranked ahead of Nova in their power rankings, which by the way are the most accurate rankings out there.

Why is the perception that Nova is this juggernaut of a CBB team and UCLA is terrible. Doesn't UCLA still have several seniors on the team who have been to final four 3 times? They are not a MUCH different team as I've seen one person say. How many times has Nova had a better team than they do this year and got knocked out early? Nova is good, but they lack inside presence and don't have an inside/outside game.

UCLA is ranked higher? Well t hey are both semi-garbage to me... and actually i'd have VILL higher (even though I have UCLA beating them). It's just an "upset" what can i say? UCLA -5

UCLA and Over. UCLA has 3 starters that shoot over 50% while Nova has only 1 starter. The others shoot at low to mid 40% range. UCLA is better on the offensive end while both are about the same on the defensive efficency. Over is better bet and later LSU should cover.

Nice call Nova backers. This was one of the few times when "too easy" really was too easy.
