Some pre-season stats

Over the past six years the defending Super Bowl champs have gone 9-13-2 ATS in pre-season play. A closer look shows the champs are 5-1 ATS in the final week of the exhibition season and just 4-12-2 ATS in Early, Week One, Week Two & Week Three games since 1997.

Good stats Lou. Makes sense for a lot of reasons in the first game but I'm not sure what to make of the final game stat. The better teams tend to rest their starters more the final game, while the weaker teams have more job battles and you would think a little more motivation in that game.

What is the stat on the next to last week? Better teams usually leave the starters in longer in that game?
