All of these have a max win of $50, so its mostly a fun type thing.
And winning money is fun

1.Will Jackson visibly and clearly shoot a snake with a gun yes -350/no +225
This one seems soooo obvious

"Dont you hiss at me Motherfucker" :uzi:

But I dont want to bet $175 to win $50 just in case a big snake eats his gun or something.

2.Will Jackson visibly and clearly be seen biten by snake yes -160/no +120
Seems easy as surely our hero will get biten and that is probably the snake that gets capped. You could win 2 bets in the same scene!!!

$80 wins $50.
But maybe he doesnt get bitten because poisonous snakes can kill and he has to live.

Or maybe he gets bit on the pecker and the stewardess has to suck the poison out.:lolBIG:

3. Will a snake eat a character. Must be at least halfway in mouth for yes to win yes +100/no -140

I "bit" on this one. 56 to win 40 on no
And here is as analytical as one can get about a bet like this in a movie of all things.

There is at least one and maybe only one big ass snake on board. I watched all the trailers from the official site. I also went to the Yahoo movies site that showed the snakes and a couple short documentaries about making of the movie. There is a very good picture of this big ass snake with his handlers.

Now this snake looks like an anoconda or other type of phython. Pythons kill by constricting prey and then swallowing whole. The are not people eaters in general and this one doesnt seem big enough to swallow an adult person. ( Work with me I know its a movie with CGI effects)

But lets say the snake hasnt eaten in a while and little Timmy looks good.
Two good things can happen for me but only one for little Timmy

1. They only show his head and shoulders going into the snake and I win on a technicality. ( I can already see having to argue with Bodog on this one. "Dude I saw the movie twice and Im telling you, you can clearly see the boy's belt before the scene was cut, he wasnt even halfway in.")

2. Sam is there to save the day and cuts that motherfucker in 2 with an axe. Seems better this way. Sam is hero, people cheer and he gets date with hot single mother.

I mean we already saw a person get swallowed in Anaconda. And think about it, if the snake eats someone what else is his stuffed, lazy ass going to do the rest of the movie. Where's the fun in killing a snake thats just sitting there.

Although I wasnt planning on going to this movie at first, now I will have to in order to enjoy the action on my bet. And if the snakes dont eat anyone then the $40 will almost cover movie and snacks for me and girl.:suomi:

Bodog puts up ridiculous props, gotta love it. I am clearly on Samuel L. shooting himself up some snakes. What else is he gonna do in this movie, kiss them? Come on, man! He's gotta get those mothafu*kin snakes!

I am also clearly on some snakes to bite Sam Jackson. The snakes gotta get theyselfs some action too, right? The hero can't win everytime, without a scratch!

Bet the small Bodog max on these two Yes'es to happen.

While we're on the Snakes craziness, here are some fine quotes by Sam Jackson:

---

QUINT: So, when you did the pickups did you really just go in to up the language and up the gore and make the pieces that'd make the film the hard R rated flick the fans want to see?

SAMUEL L. JACKSON: Yeah. Yeah. It's all about that, you know. You go back and you put in the snake hits you wanted to put in because you have the ability to show a snake gnawin' on somebody's arm, not just jumpin' off screen and jumpin' back, cutting to somebody (holds his arm) going "Ow-ow-ow!" You see that snake hangin' on that person's arm and that person' tryin' to shake it off! Or somebody gettin' bit in the face, you know, by a snake. Nasty stuff!

QUINT: Great. Because if I was in the audience for SNAKES ON A PLANE and just saw a parade of reaction shots I'd be pissed.

SAMUEL L. JACKSON: No! Hell, no! You want the snake hit! You want to see it. You have two people goin' to screw in a bathroom on a plane and you know that there are some snakes on there... you know that when that tit comes out, you want to see a snake on that tit! At some point you gonna go, "Man, I know a snake's going to show up somewhere... and hopefully that snake's going to be on that tit!"

---

Samuel L Jackson was asked about why New Line didn't allow Snakes to be pre-screened and reviewed, and he said:

"Snakes are biting people — and they're biting them right on screen. There's nothing to review. It's not 'Snakes on the Waterfront.' You don't have snakes going, 'I coulda been a constrictor.' No. Hell no. It's 'Snakes on a Plane.'".

---

From Defamer:

Say what you will about Samuel L. Jackson, but he's really committed himself to selling Snakes on a Plane. While many members of his trade would now have a dead-eyed, faraway look after weeks of being on the messy end of countless press junket bukkake sessions, Jackson brought what seemed like genuine enthusiasm to his Daily Show appearance last night in pimping his airborne reptilian wares, even inducing a giddy stream of "[censored]" from Jon Stewart.

But easily our favorite part of the interview comes toward the end of the above clip, in which Jackson, [SPOILER ALERT below]

who's never met a paycheck he didn't like, reveals he doesn't die in the movie, then nearly defecates with glee at the thought of the negotiations for his sequel contract--he knows he's going to get paid when New Line comes calling on Sunday to sign him up for Snakes on Two Planes and Snakes on a Space Shuttle in 3D.

I went ahead and bet yes on Sam getting bitten.
The line went from -160 to +100. Maybe someone knows something.

If Sam Jackson can make it through a whole movie where there are 450 snakes on a plane and not get bitten once then he really is a BAD... well you know.

Snakes review and answers to props-Spoilers inside

Answers at bottom if you dont care about review.

Just got done watching it a local theatre, it started at 10 local time. No one else was in the showing. I dont read Tooooo much into this because even though there are 10 screen at this theatre, only around 20 people max alltogether were there for the last movie screenings.

Matter of fact, I had to find someone to get the film running. The guy didnt start it because he didnt show any purchased tickets in the system.

The movie is not as bad as I thought it would be and there were some funny parts. I think that if the theatre was packed it could be a very fun movie to watch. The guy taking a leak and the fat lady getting hers was hilarious.
Im still not sure if the masses are going to flock to it though.

Quote of the movie that will be on a Snakes poster with SLJ, guaranteed.

Nelville Flynn, "Thats is enoughs enough. Im tired of these Motherfuckin snakes on this motherfucking plane"

IF there had been a crowd people would have cheered.
And he only says MF one other time in movie.

YEs, he does shoot a snake at the very end. You think there are no more snakes left but there is one. If anyone had taken this prop when it was -500 waiting for it to happen was truly like a hail mary pass at the end to win the game. I knew there had to be one more surprise attack left, just didnt expect it to go down as it did.

No, a character does not get eaten
Two notes on this though.
A guy does throw a dog at the big ass snake but it is not visually clear that its eaten. I also dont know if they would count a dog as a character.

The asshole that threw the dog possibly gets eaten as the snake sucks the life out of him and proceeds to open his mouth and swallows his head. The camera cuts away from there. So as I mentioned earlier in thread, the loophole in the bet is where half the body had to be halfway in snake's mouth in order for yes to be graded a win.

NO, SLJ does not get biten by a snake. He made it the whole way pretty much unscathed.

Two things I learned about gambling on these type of props. IF you bet on an event in which at least someone knows the winner, NEVER bet against the line movement. Masses of casual gamblers would not have bet on Jackson not getting bit nor would they lay 5 to 1 that Jackson would shoot a snake. This is so important that I must say it again
NEVER BET AGAINST THE LINE MOVEMENT OF AN EVENT WHERE THERE IS A KNOWN WINNER.

If a book were to set a line on a WWE match between two guys on the same popularity and talent level the line would be say -120 either way. They would figure its a coin flip based on who Vince wanted to win that night, about half bets a , half bets b and they make the vig.
IF all of the sudden one of the wrestlers shoots up to -300 in a few hours you have to ask. Who is making that happen?, surely not the casual gamblers who just wants a little action. For certain someone already knows who Vince has picked for tonite.

Now Im sure that people at Bodog arent dummies and thats why the limits are so low. Even though they lost some loot Im sure it wasnt that much compared to the publicity they got and the fact that alot of square players probably did take some on the losing sides.

The second lesson regards inside info, if you cant trust the messenger then you cant trust the message. As Husker stated earlier people have their own agenda when they give out info, sometimes it is to mislead and sometimes it is just to make themselves appear bigger or more knowledgeble than they are.
In this case I figured I would take a chance on someone's word that I didnt know for sure was straight up, so I was hoping that he was telling the truth even though the line movement was saying otherwise. Obviously this person hadnt seen the movie or he would have known that Jackson doesnt get bitten. Luckily this lapse in judgement only cost me $50.

Have a good weekend guys!!!
