MADRID, Spain - One person died during fighting among fans at a Copa del Rey soccer match between Compostela and Deportivo de La Coruna, police said Wednesday.
Manuel Rios Suarez, a 31-year-old Deportivo fan, had internal injuries and was pronounced dead on arrival at a hospital.
Deportivo won Tuesday's game 1-0.
The last time a fan at a soccer game died in Spain was in November 1998, when a Real Sociedad supporter was stabbed outside Atletico de Madrid's stadium before a UEFA Cup match.
