The slowness is probably coming from issues with their backend database. I would assume their backend is probably mysql. I would offer to be a slave db server for the rx to keep the site going but my database server is located in the usa and I don't know if therx wants their traffic going to the states. The restoral process could be easier for me than the rx. The rx admins are probably using phpmyadmin to do the restoral of their database. If not then they are transferring the mysql dump backup to the server and restoring from their. I avoid php admin as a db restore tool and use the latter option where I restore from command line e.g "mysql -u root -p databasebkp < /tmp/bkp/databasebkp.sql"

I would also recommend that the vbulletin software be upgraded to atleast 3.7

Therx has some solid admins (I believe I met edgar backi in 2006) and regardless of my advice they will work out the issues I am sure.

Another thing that will help with the slowness is to use phpmyadmin, go to the database the forum uses, and "optimize"/"repair" tables. You can do this in the vbulletin forum software as well but I would do it via phpmyadmin becuase I think that fixes slowness issues with the database itself better.

You can name two stiffs that post there. A total of two stiffs and those guys are JMAN and 5-Star. I've heard that JMAN has paid back at least $2,000 and 5-Star owes $300. But, if you think for one second there are no stiffs here that's a little unreal.

Scumbags and assholes? Really? I can count roughly 20 posters that post at both sites on a regular basis. My point is we have two sites that provide good information. We have stiffs and jackasses on both. Let's just leave it at that.

That site is filled with assholes who have been banned from here. To even compare the sites is laughable. There are a couple of people that post at both but the site still sucks. There are plenty of people that post here because they can't post here. End of story.

Wil or a Mod

is the site still being worked on, or is it assumed everything is working fine? It is still taking extremely long to move around the site, and am often getting the dreading "this page cannot be displayed" . or it could be my computer?

It's not your computer, the site is still not fixed despite all the announcements stating otherwise. In its current state, there is no way the site will be able to handle the traffic of a typical football weekend like the one coming up.
